Job summary

Yokogawa Electric Corporation in Bengaluru is seeking a seasoned SIS QA/QC Engineer to strengthen quality plans, inspection and test procedures, and the overall deliverables for Major SIS projects. You will review contractor and vendor quality plans, participate in HazOp and risk assessments, and guide teams to ensure safety and quality requirements are addressed from early design stages.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronics) or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as SIS QA/QC Engineer in engineering or SIS project execution.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and IEC61508/511; ES D/Emergency shutdown systems familiarity.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and deliverables in Industrial Automation.

• Quality assurance (process-focused): Support project teams for Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and other quality procedures.
• Quality control: Perform detailed, independent spot / sample reviews of engineering documents / deliverables; manage NCRs.
• Documentation: Verify design documents are complete, signed off, and controlled before procurement or customer review.

Quality assurance (process-focused)*** Support Project teams for Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and other quality procedures.* Review and approve contractor and vendor quality plans, method statements, and technical submittals to ensure compliance for Major SIS project Quality needs.* Participate in any Critical project reviews (e.g., HazOp, Risk Assessments) to ensure that quality and safety requirements are addressed from the earliest stages for Major Projects* Conduct internal quality audits in Ongoing SIS Projects, (engineering and design processes) to monitor compliance and identify areas for continuous improvement.* Prepare QA/QC training materials. Provide guidance to new members/Engineers on quality standards and procedures.* Monitoring (on Regular basis) of SIS Projects at various phases for adherence to Internal QA/QC process & reporting /escalation. Should also be responsible & provide clearances for moving to the next phase.* Global SIS project assessment based on Functional Safety standard (IEC61508/511)**2. Quality control*** Perform detailed, independent spot / sample reviews of engineering documents / Deliverables (from projects).* Oversee adherence to document control system, ensuring that design documents are accurately tracked and revision control management in place.* Manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process for design errors, including root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions.* Verify that design documents are complete and signed off before being issued for procurement / customer review.* Review & control quality documentation dossiers at the final project handover stage.**3. Required qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Instrumentation/ Electrical / Electronics) or a related technical Branch.* Proven experience (5+ years) as a SIS QA/QC Engineer, preferably in an engineering or SIS project execution environment (Industrial Automation & Process Control domain)* Strong understanding of quality management systems and international standards (e.g., ISO 9001 and IEC61508/511).* Knowledge of Emergency shutdown system and FGS.* Experience with Understanding/ interpreting engineering drawings / deliverables in Industrial Automation & Process Control.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Relevant certifications (e.g., TuV FS Engineer) are a plus.Yokogawa is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
