Job summary

Yokogawa Bengaluru seeks an experienced SIS QA/QC Engineer to safeguard quality across major SIS projects within Industrial Automation and Process Control. You will review quality plans, perform audits, and ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and IEC61508 standards while guiding project teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering and 5+ years of SIS QA/QC experience, with strong communication to collaborate across functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronics) or related technical field.
• 5+ years of SIS QA/QC experience in engineering or SIS project execution environment.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and IEC61508/511.
• Knowledge of Emergency shutdown system and FGS.
• Experience with interpreting engineering drawings in Industrial Automation & Process Control.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., TuV FS Engineer) are a plus.

• Prepare QA/QC training materials and guide new engineers on standards.
• Monitor SIS projects for QA/QC adherence and clearance to move to next phase.
• Oversee document control and revision management for design documents.
• Manage NCR process for design errors and verify corrective actions.
• Verify design documents are signed off before procurement or customer review.
• Review quality documentation dossiers at final project handover.

Key Responsibilities & Qualification

• Quality assurance (process-focused)
• Support Project teams for Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and other quality procedures.
• Review and approve contractor and vendor quality plans, method statements, and technical submittals to ensure compliance for Major SIS project Quality needs.
• Participate in any Critical project reviews (e.g., HazOp, Risk Assessments) to ensure that quality and safety requirements are addressed from the earliest stages for Major Projects
• Conduct internal quality audits in Ongoing SIS Projects, (engineering and design processes) to monitor compliance and identify areas for continuous improvement.
• Prepare QA/QC training materials. Provide guidance to new members/Engineers on quality standards and procedures.
• Monitoring (on Regular basis) of SIS Projects at various phases for adherence to Internal QA/QC process & reporting /escalation. Should also be responsible & provide clearances for moving to the next phase.
• Global SIS project assessment based on Functional Safety standard (IEC61508/511)
• Quality control
• Perform detailed, independent spot / sample reviews of engineering documents / Deliverables (from projects).
• Oversee adherence to document control system, ensuring that design documents are accurately tracked and revision control management in place.
• Manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process for design errors, including root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions.
• Verify that design documents are complete and signed off before being issued for procurement / customer review.
• Review & control quality documentation dossiers at the final project handover stage.
• Required qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Instrumentation/ Electrical / Electronics) or a related technical Branch.
• Proven experience (5+ years) as a SIS QA/QC Engineer, preferably in an engineering or SIS project execution environment (Industrial Automation & Process Control domain)
• Strong understanding of quality management systems and international standards (e.g., ISO 9001 and IEC61508/511).
• Knowledge of Emergency shutdown system and FGS.
• Experience with Understanding/ interpreting engineering drawings / deliverables in Industrial Automation & Process Control.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Relevant certifications (e.g., TuV FS Engineer) are a plus.
