Azim Premji Foundation works for a more just, equitable and humane society in India. Its teams work alongside government schools, district and state education systems, community health efforts and university programmes, mostly in places far from big cities. Much of that work now depends on software that ordinary people have to be able to use, whether they are a school teacher, a lab technician or a community volunteer. Technology only helps if the person in the field can use it without fear. This role sits within the Foundation's Enabler function, which builds and supports the technology applications used across the Foundation and its partner organisations.
A Frontline Technology Associate makes technology work for people who may have had very little exposure to it. You will learn one programme area deeply, such as teacher development, community healthcare or university admissions, learn the applications that support it, and then set them up, teach people to use them, stay with those users when they get stuck, and watch how much the tools are really being used. You will also read the data the applications collect and turn it into clear reports and graphs the teams can act on.
