Job summary

T Stanes is seeking a formulation scientist for its R&D Centre in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The role focuses on developing microbial formulations, including bio-fungicides, bio-pesticides, and bio-fertilizers, with emphasis on stability and efficacy evaluation.

The candidate will work alongside microbiologists, chemists, and fermentation personnel to optimize formulations and-transfer knowledge for new testing parameters, ensuring alignment with customer needs and company goals.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in execution of formulation plans for bio-pesticides and bio-stimulants.

Academic Qualification

M.Sc.(Industrial Microbiology)-with 10 years experience or Ph.D. with 6 years in the field of microbial technology with reference to formulations of bio-fungicides, plant probiotics, bio-pesticides/bio-fertiliser.Essential Qualifications: PhD in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Pharmaceutics or similar fields with 6 yrs of experience or a Masters degree with relevant industry experience, in formulating microbial products or bio-chemicals.

Functional area

• Prior experience with liquid and solid bio-pesticide formulations, stability studies, and efficacy evaluation is highly desirable.
• Expertise to design and develop formulations containing biological active ingredient and ensure formulations align with customer needs, company goals and industry trends.

They need to work in coordination with microbiologists, chemists, fermentation area personnel and optimize production & formulation technologies, and perform method validation for new testing parameters. Extend support to the R&D group to plan for and adopt new techniques, new lab equipment and enhance research capabilities.

Candidate should have the ability to work on projects that present new products/constantly changing problems and take initiatives to deal & solve complex technicalities that are not easily identifiable, while reviewing, checking & eliminating trouble shoots.

Candidate has to maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes cooperation with team members, collaborators & Management should have good verbal and written communication skills.

Technical Expertise

Candidate should assist in the execution of plans & execute, laboratory & pilot scale trials on formulation properties, stability (shelf-life), and prepare samples.

Communicate regularly with internal team to develop formulations that align with customer needs and enhance the current formulation of at least 1 product per year, establish protocols and transfer results, during scale-up (bio-insecticides, bio-fungicides, and bio-stimulants).

Personal Requirements

Preferably, hailing from India; with verbal & written skills in English & other languages. Selected candidates will be on probation for one year and will report to Head - Microbiology -R&D.

Salary

Commensurate to the professional working knowledge and experience in the relevant areas.
