Job summary

Chennai Forge Products is seeking a Quality Inspector (Hot Forge) to oversee shift QA, monitor dimensions on hot-forge components, and maintain strict traceability. You will contribute to maintaining quality on the shop floor and support continuous improvement through NCRs and data logs.

Openings: 3 vacancies. Male candidates only due to shop environment. Salary range from ₹20,000 to ₹25,000 per month with a production shift rotation.

Responsibilities

• Shift Quality Assurance: Regular patrol inspections on the hot forging shop floor during production shifts and ensure quality of hot-forged and stamped components.
• Documentation & Compliance: Update and maintain IATF 16949 documents, record inspection data for traceability, and issue NCRs for rejected parts.
• Shop Floor Coordination: Guide hammer operators and stampers on dimensional deviations and communicate pending issues during handovers.

Job description

Core Roles & Responsibilities

1. Shift Quality Assurance

• Line Inspection: Conduct regular patrol inspections on the hot forging shop floor during production shifts.
• Product Monitoring: Check the quality of hot-forged and stamped components straight from the hammers/presses.
• Defect Detection: Identify and isolate forging defects like underfills, scales, cracks, and mismatches immediately.
• Testing Equipment: Use instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and templates to check part dimensions. [1, 2, 3, 4]

2. Documentation & Compliance

• IATF 16949 Maintenance: Update and maintain all IATF-related documents, including process logs, check sheets, and inspection reports.
• Traceability: Record first-part and last-part inspection data to ensure complete batch traceability.
• Non-Conformance: Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for rejected parts and track rework or scrap data

3. Shop Floor Coordination

• Operator Feedback: Guide forging hammer operators and stampers instantly if dimensions deviate from blueprints.
• Shift Handover: Communicate pending quality issues clearly to the incoming shift inspector.
