Job summary

Ishan Chandi Agro Industries is seeking a quality control analyst at the Purba Bardhaman plant to test paddy and rice samples, inspect finished goods, and monitor processing stages from parboiling to sortex. The role emphasizes accurate lab work, record-keeping, and collaboration with production to implement process corrections.

The candidate should have a science degree or diploma in food technology, hands-on lab experience, and knowledge of food-safety standards.

Qualifications

• B.Sc/M.Sc in Chemistry, Food Technology, Microbiology, Agriculture or Diploma in Food Technology required.
• Hands-on experience with moisture meters, grain analysers and basic lab testing preferred.
• Knowledge of FSSAI, HACCP or GMP is a plus.
• Good record-keeping and basic MS Excel skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Test incoming paddy and rice for moisture, broken %, head rice yield, chalkiness, discoloration and foreign matter.
• Inspect finished goods against buyer and company specifications.
• Monitor parboiling, drying, milling, polishing and sortex output at each stage.
• Draw samples, maintain lab records and prepare daily quality reports.
• Coordinate with production on rejections, rework and process corrections.
• Ensure FSSAI hygiene and food safety practices on the floor.
• Check packing, labelling, batch coding and dispatch quality before loading.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.Sc/M.Sc (Chemistry, Food Technology, Microbiology, Agriculture) or Diploma in Food Technology
• 1-4 years in a rice mill, grain processing or food manufacturing unit
• Hands-on with moisture meters, grain analysers and basic lab testing
• Knowledge of FSSAI, HACCP or GMP is a plus
• Willing to work at the plant in Purba Bardhaman
• Good record-keeping and basic MS Excel skills
