Job summary

Individual is seeking a QA Manager to establish and maintain the Quality Assurance and Food Safety Management System for a 25 TPH rice mill, ensuring that raw materials, processes and finished products meet customer, statutory and export requirements. The ideal candidate will set quality specs for rice and paddy, supervise laboratory testing, and lead HACCP, FSSAI and ISO 22000 initiatives.

Qualifications

• B.Tech/M.Tech/M.Sc./B.Sc. in Food Technology, Food Science, Agricultural Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in rice milling, grain processing, food processing or FMCG preferred.
• Practical knowledge of HACCP, FSSAI, ISO 22000 and food laboratory testing.
• Export-quality rice experience will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Establish quality specifications for incoming paddy and finished rice.
• Monitor parameters such as: Moisture, Broken percentage, Head rice recovery, Foreign matter, Discolouration, Purity, Grain length, Chalky grains, Damaged grains, Milling quality, Other customer/export specifications.
• Manage laboratory testing and maintain test records.
• Monitor quality at critical stages throughout the milling/parboiling process.
• Implement and maintain HACCP/Food Safety systems.
• Ensure compliance with applicable FSSAI and food safety requirements.
• Manage ISO 22000 and other relevant certifications/audits.
• Support BRCGS or other customer-specific certification requirements where applicable.
• Conduct internal audits and prepare the facility for customer/third-party inspections.
• Investigate customer complaints, quality claims and corrective/preventive actions.
• Train production and quality staff regarding hygiene, food safety and quality procedures.
• Maintain complete QA documentation, specifications, laboratory records and traceability systems.
• Coordinate with customers and export buyers regarding product specifications and quality certificates.

Preferred Qualification

• B.Tech/M.Tech/M.Sc./B.Sc. in Food Technology, Food Science, Agricultural Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or related discipline.
• 510+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in rice milling, grain processing, food processing or FMCG preferred.
• Practical knowledge of HACCP, FSSAI, ISO 22000 and food laboratory testing.
• Export-quality rice experience will be an advantage.

Ideal Candidate

• A quality professional who can independently establish a complete QA/QC and food-safety system for a commercial rice milling facility and handle domestic as well as export customer requirements.

COMMON CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant industry experience rather than only general managerial experience.
• Experience in a rice mill, grain processing plant, food processing plant or similar manufacturing facility.
• Strong practical/hands-on knowledge.
• Ability to manage teams and work under production deadlines.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Willingness to work at the plant location and according to production requirements.
• Ability to coordinate with Production, Procurement, Finance, Logistics and Management.
• Candidates with experience in a 2050 TPH rice milling facility should be given preference.
