Job summary

Jindal Stainless Limited in Hisar, Haryana is seeking a Senior Manager – Fire & Safety to lead proactive fire prevention, protection and safety measures across the manufacturing facility.

The role requires 10–15 years of experience in heavy industry, preferably steel, and expects you to drive compliance with BIS, NFPA, NBC and ISO standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Fire & Safety Engineering from a recognized institute.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar international safety certifications preferred.
  • 8–12 years of industrial fire safety experience, preferably in steel/heavy manufacturing.
  • Hands-on knowledge of safety systems implementation and firefighting infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of fire protection systems and safety legislation.
  • Leadership in crisis and emergency handling.
  • Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and safety management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and monitor fire safety systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, hydrants, extinguishers, suppression systems, etc.).
  • Lead emergency preparedness drills, including fire mock drills, evacuation plans, and first-aid training.
  • Maintain and upgrade firefighting equipment and systems as per BIS/NFPA standards.
  • Coordinate with local fire authorities and emergency services for compliance and support.
  • Ensure adherence to all fire & safety-related legal and statutory requirements (Factories Act, NBC, OHSAS/ISO 45001).
  • Develop and update SOPs, safety manuals, and fire safety protocols for all plant operations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and fire hazard analyses.
  • Investigate fire incidents/near misses and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular safety training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Build a safety-first culture by encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives.
  • Work closely with plant operations, EHS teams, and facility heads to enforce fire and safety norms.
  • Prepare monthly safety reports, fire inspection logs, and MIS dashboards for top management review.

Role Objective:

To lead and implement proactive fire prevention, protection, and safety measures across the manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and industry best practices, thereby fostering a culture of safety and emergency readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

Fire Safety & Emergency Response:

Plan, implement, and monitor fire safety systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, hydrants, extinguishers, suppression systems, etc.)

Lead emergency preparedness drills, including fire mock drills, evacuation plans, and first-aid training.

Maintain and upgrade firefighting equipment and systems as per BIS/NFPA standards.

Key Requirements:

Educational Qualifications:

Degree/Diploma in Fire & Safety Engineering from a recognized institute

Preferably certified in NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar international safety standards

Experience:

8–12 years of relevant experience in industrial fire safety, preferably in steel or heavy manufacturing industries

Hands-on knowledge of safety systems implementation and firefighting infrastructure

Strong knowledge of fire protection systems and safety legislation

Leadership in crisis and emergency handling

Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills

Proficient in MS Office and safety management tools
