Job summary

JLL is seeking a seasoned Fire Safety professional to manage and enhance the life-safety framework within a building. You will oversee fire protection systems, conduct drills, train security and staff, and ensure compliance with safety policies and code requirements while coordinating with property management and tech teams.

The role requires 5–10 years of experience, a science degree or diploma, and credentials from the National Fire Service College.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in science and relevant fire safety credentials.
• Qualification from National Fire Service College.
• 5–10 years of experience in fire safety / protection.
• Knowledge of fire suppression techniques and equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages effective safety processes for the safety of building.
• Maintain the correct operation of fire detection / protection system.
• Carry out fire drills and educate the residents / tenants with regards to fire and rescue operations.
• Maintains an awareness of other Fire personnel on detail for the purpose of protecting other Fire-fighter’s lives as necessary.
• Conduct & impart the training to the staff, security, of the property.
• Carry out the standard test of existing fire-fighting equipment.
• Preparing fire & safety related reports, Planning-Risk Assessment & Effective safety strategies.
• Ensure a standard operation protocol of Fire & safety services.
• Maintains on-going communications with OM, Manager-Technical and other building related services staff.
• Gains/maintains proficiency with property’s life safety system.
• Maintains and updates Safety Policies and Procedures manual.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all current building fire and life safety code requirements.
• Ensure an effective emergency preparedness plan (i.e. fire, evacuations human crisis, etc.).
• Communicate with PM/Tech Manager regarding events, incidents, concerns of Security Team members, recommendations, staffing needs, etc.
• Co-develops with the management staff operating guidelines and practices.
• Establishes and updates project specific safety procedures.

• Good knowledge of current fire suppression and fire- fighting techniques, including all related equipment
• Good knowledge of fire records systems, communications equipment and use, fire computer applications and fire reporting procedures
• Good knowledge of the principles and practices involved in emergency medical services
• Ability to use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions for short term and long term Safety needs
• Ability to communicate well with others, both orally and in writing
• Ability to understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures and instructions
• Demonstrate integrity and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks
