Persistent is seeking a qualified Cloud Cost & FinOps professional to optimize AWS spend, analyze cost drivers, and drive reporting for business stakeholders. The role emphasizes hands-on work with Billing, Cost Management tools, and cost optimization techniques.

The ideal candidate brings 5–8 years of AWS-focused experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Excel for cost modeling and dashboards. Collaboration with engineering and finance teams is a key part of the job.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in AWS Cloud Operations, FinOps, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Support, or Cloud Cost Optimization.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Billing and Cost Management, Cost Explorer, Trusted Advisor, Compute Optimizer, and cloud optimization reporting.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret usage, cost, trend, and utilization data to recommend improvements.
• Good knowledge of Excel and reporting; dashboards, data extracts, cost models, or scripting is a plus.
• Ability to coordinate with technical teams and explain cost optimization to stakeholders.

Job description

5-8 years of experience in AWS Cloud Operations, FinOps, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Support, or Cloud Cost Optimization.

Hands-on experience with AWS Billing and Cost Management, Cost Explorer, Trusted Advisor, Compute Optimizer, and cloud optimization reporting.

Good understanding of AWS services including EC2, EBS, RDS, S3, VPC, Load Balancers, NAT Gateway, CloudWatch, Backup, and related cost drivers.

Experience in rightsizing, reserved capacity analysis, Savings Plans/Reserved Instance utilization, tagging, cost allocation, and budget variance analysis.

Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret usage, cost, trend, and utilization data to recommend actionable improvements.

Good knowledge of Excel and reporting, with exposure to dashboards, data extracts, cost models, or scripting considered an advantage.

Ability to coordinate with technical teams to validate risks, implementation feasibility, rollback considerations, and change management requirements.

Strong communication skills to explain cost optimization recommendations to both technical and business stakeholders.
