Job description

Responsibilities

• Deep technical skill in AWS infrastructure, software architecture and cloud computing
• Design and implement enhanced tagging and tracking of resources on public clouds
• Develop standards around environment right sizing
• Work with product management and engineering leadership to optimize workloads in the cloud through product enhancements
• Develop models for forecasting of cost based on business requirements.
• Strong experience in public cloud cost optimization strategies.
• Clear understanding of RI, On Demand, Spot pricing at an enterprise level and scale
• Understanding of financial forecasting concepts
• Experience managing data center operations and cost management
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
• Experience driving discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation
• Hands‑on experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale or current hands‑on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience
• Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies required
• Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (eg. security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA etc.)

• 8+ years of experience in the design & optimization of scalable cloud-based solutions
• Experience in infrastructure, database and networking architecture for highly available, Internet-scale applications
• Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with CTOs, Enterprise Architects, IT Management, and developers
• Strong written & verbal communication skills; high level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations
