Job summary

EverestDX Inc is seeking a Cloud FinOps Engineer to drive financial accountability across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, Datadog, MongoDB Atlas). You will monitor usage, optimize costs, enforce governance, and empower engineering teams to deliver cost-efficient solutions without compromising performance.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, and platform teams, implement tagging standards, manage storage lifecycles, and build dashboards to improve cost visibility.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in cloud FinOps and cost management.
• 3+ years of FinOps in cloud environments (Azure preferred).
• Experience with Power BI for cost dashboards and data visuals.
• Proficiency in CI/CD practices, scripting, and version control.

Job Title: FinOps Engineer

Experience: 6+ Years

We are looking for a Cloud FinOps Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team and drive financial accountability across our cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, Datadog, MongoDB Atlas, and other engineering tools). You will be responsible for monitoring cloud usage, optimizing costs, enforcing governance controls, and enabling engineering teams to build cost-efficient solutions without compromising on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze cloud spend across compute, storage, networking, and PaaS services.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities (rightsizing, auto-scaling, reserved instances, spot usage).
• Partner with engineering, product, and platform teams to design cost-efficient architectures.
• Define and enforce tagging standards for accurate cost allocation and chargeback.
• Manage storage lifecycle policies to optimize retention, archival, and tiering strategies.
• Build dashboards, alerts, and reports to improve cost visibility and accountability.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis of cloud spend.
• Optimize licensing, reservations, and savings plans across cloud services.
• Provide regular FinOps insights to leadership on spend trends, risks, and savings wins.
• Promote a FinOps-first culture by educating teams on cost awareness and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with governance, RBAC, security, and financial policies.
• Automate operational tasks through CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure Automation).
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and runbooks for FinOps operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience with FinOps in cloud environments (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP acceptable).
• Strong understanding of cloud-native services and cost management strategies.
• Experience in SRE/production support with SLAs and ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira).
• Familiarity with FinOps tools and reporting platforms.
• Proficiency in Power BI for cost dashboards.
• Experience with CI/CD, version control (Git), and scripting (PowerShell).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
