Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• FinOps Certified Practitioner certification, or willingness to obtain it.
• 5-8+ years of experience in FinOps, Cloud Engineering, Cloud Operations, or IT Financial Management.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure cost management tools.
• Experience with cloud cost reporting, automation, and optimisation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

About the Role

This FinOps Engineer role sits within the Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) and focuses on managing and improving cloud spend across AWS and Microsoft Azure. The position is based in Johannesburg and is offered on a 6-12 month contract, depending on project needs. The role is intended to strengthen financial visibility across cloud usage and support better business decision-making. You will work closely with Finance, Engineering, and Business stakeholders to improve reporting, governance, budgeting support, and audit readiness.
