Job summary

Phi Commerce is seeking a Chartered Accountant to lead our finance function in Pune. You will manage end-to-end accounting, ensure Ind AS compliance, and oversee month-end closings, reconciliations, audits, and regulatory filings.

You will also supervise payroll, manage AP/AR cycles, and drive automation using Zoho Books, Tally Prime, and ERP tools to strengthen internal controls in a fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) completed.
• Experience in Fintech, Payment Gateways, Banks, NBFCs, or Financial Services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting and GL maintenance for data accuracy.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings in Ind AS compliance.
• Manage reconciliations for high-volume payment gateway operations with banks and merchants.
• Coordinate statutory, internal, and tax audits and ROC filings.
• Oversee AP/AR cycles and payroll remittances including PF, ESI, Gratuity.
• Leverage ERP systems to automate reconciliations and strengthen controls.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Month-End Closing

• Oversee full-cycle accounting and General Ledger (GL) maintenance to ensure strict data accuracy.
• Drive timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closings in strict compliance with Ind AS.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and supporting schedules for management review.

Reconciliations (Core Payment Gateway Operations)

• Manage and monitor complex, high-volume payment gateway, nodal/escrow banks, and merchant/vendor account reconciliations.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve settlements, nodal account discrepancies, unpaid balances, and chargebacks.

Audit & Regulatory Compliance

• Lead and coordinate statutory, internal, and tax audits with external auditors.
• Ensure 100% compliance with direct and indirect tax obligations (GST, TDS, Income Tax), including filing periodic returns and ROC compliances.
• Keep abreast of evolving Fintech regulations, RBI payment aggregator guidelines, and tax amendments.

Financial Operations & Payroll

• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) cycles, ensuring smooth vendor payouts.
• Oversee payroll processing, including calculations and timely remittances for PF, ESI, and Gratuity benefits.

Systems Management & Automation

• Leverage ERP systems and accounting tools to automate manual reconciliation routines and strengthen internal financial controls.

Key Qualifications & Technical Skills

• Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA Completed).
• Industry Experience: Prior experience in Fintech, Payment Gateways, Banks, NBFCs, or Financial Services is strongly preferred.

Technical Skills

• Software: Advanced hands-on experience with Zoho Books and Tally Prime.
• Excel: Expert-level proficiency in MS Excel (XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Power Query, complex nested formulas for high-volume data handling).
• Compliance & Standards: Strong practical expertise in Ind AS, GST, TDS, and ROC filings.
