Job summary

Vakrangee in Mumbai seeks a Chartered Accountant with 5-9 years of experience in fintech or regulated financial services. You will lead financial planning, budgeting, and end-to-end accounting, ensuring accurate books per Ind AS/IFRS/GAAP and preparing group-level financial statements.

You will own P&L, MIS, board reporting, and investor packs, collaborating with product, growth, risk, and compliance teams. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• CA with MBA in Finance or CFA added advantage
• 5-9 years of experience in fintech, payments, lending, NBFCs, digital banking or regulated financial services
• Strong understanding of transaction led accounting, escrow/nodal settlement and RBI-aligned compliance
• Hands-on experience with Tally and reconciliation tools
• Exposure to audit, fundraising or scale-stage regulated business preferred

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end accounting cycle from transaction recording to final accounts
• Prepare financial statements, notes to accounts, schedules and disclosures as per requirements
• Own company-wide P&L with granular visibility into transaction level economics
• Provide financial inputs for new product launches and partnerships
• MIS, financial reporting, and close with timelines and accuracy
• Build management dashboards and revenue/P&L dashboards for management review
• Prepare board/investor reporting packs with commentary and outlook
• Monitor daily cash, liquidity, and support fundraising due diligence

Job description

Key Responsibility :

• Financial Planning, Budgeting and Control
  
• Support & prepare Annual Budget, rolling forecast and variance analysis with a focus on unit economics, transaction cost and ROI.
  
• Track Cost drivers including processing fees, platform costs, commissions, and credit related expenses (Where applicable )
  
• Support pricing, margin and profitability analysis across transaction based, subscription.
  
• End-to-End Accounting
  

Own thecomplete accounting cyclefrom transaction recording to preparing final accounts
Ensure books of accounts are maintained accurately as perInd AS / IFRS / GAAP
Prepare and finalisefinancial statements at group level. Prepare financial statement, notes to accounts, schedules and disclosures as per the requirements.

P & L Ownership and Business Partnering

• Own Company wide and product level P & L with granular visibility into transaction level economics
  
• Act as a finance partner to product ,growth , risk, and compliance team to elevate CAC , LTV , payback period, and profitability
  
• Provide financial inputs for new product launches, partnerships, and market expansion
  
• MIS , Financial Reporting & Close
  
• Own Monthly, quarterly and annual financial close with strict timelines and high accuracy
  
• Build Management dashboards and MIS Covering metrics such as transaction volumes , revenue yield cost per transaction , working capital and collection.
  
• Prepare board level and investor reporting packs with clear financial commentary, risk, and outlook.
  
• Prepare monthly revenue with revenue dashboard & P&L dashboard for management review.
  
• Perform variance analysis, investigate deviations, and obtain explanations from departments.
  

Accounting, controls & Automation

• Ensure compliance, revenue recognition standards and transaction led accounting practices
  
• Design implements and strength internal control around transaction processing, reconciliation, and settlement
  
• Drive automation across accounting reconciliation and reporting using different tools
  
• Scrutinized of All daily entries, Review of Bank Reconciliation, wallet reconciliation.
  

Compliance, Audit & Governance

• Ensure compliance with the companies Act, GST , Income Tax and applicable RBI/ regulatory guidelines.
  
• Lead Statutory, tax, Internal and regulatory audits, always ensure audit readiness
  
• Partner with Compliance and risk teams to maintain regulatory documentation and reporting
  

Taxation & Regulatory Reporting

• Manage direct and indirect taxation including GST , TDS , Income tax provisions , assessment, and filling.
  
• File corporate income tax returns (10 ITR), management ITR (4 ITR), prepare GST annual returns and audit compliance reports.
  
• Review annual ROC returns (AOC-4, MGT-7, Board Reports), FLA & APR.
  
• Ensure Accurate classification of Income tax streams for tax and regulatory purposes
  
• Oversee regulatory filings, certificates, and periodic reporting to authorities.
  

Treasury Cash Flow and Strategic Support

• Monitor daily cash position, liquidity and find flows across operating and accounts.
  
• Support fundraising due diligence lender audit and investor information request
  
• Assist with financial evaluation of partnership acquisitions and regulatory driven business change
  

Candidate Profile

• Qualified Charted Accountant: MBA ( Finance ) or CFA is an added advantage
  
• 5-9 Years of experience in fintech, payments, lending, NBFCs, digital banking or regulated financial services
  
• Strong Understanding of transaction led accounting escrow/ nodal mechanism settlement and RBI aligned compliance
  
• Hands on experience with telly and other systems, reconciliation engines, tools and financial automation
  
• Prior exposure to Audit, fund raising or scale stage regulated business is highly preferred.
  
• Ability to operate in fast paced environment with high ownership and attention to details.
