Job summary

PinnacleU, Pune-based consumer brand, seeks a hands-on Finance Manager to own statutory compliance, reporting, and cash management. You will be the first finance hire, partnering with the founders to translate numbers into strategy and speed up automation.

You will manage GST filings across states, vendor and CA liaison, and frequent investor-ready reporting, while building a scalable finance function as the company grows.

Qualifications

• AI tool fluency to automate routine tasks and support decision making.
• Analytical mindset to identify root causes of financial anomalies and explain them clearly.
• Finance/Accounting degree as baseline; CA qualification preferred for growth within the finance function.

Responsibilities

• Statutory & Compliance: Bookkeeping, GST filings, and statutory requirements across a multi-state footprint.
• Financial Reporting: Manage the monthly close and MIS pack.
• Reconciliations: Reconcile marketplace settlements across all sales channels.
• Vendor & CA Management: Coordinate supplier payments with external CA firm.
• Diligence & Automation: Maintain a clean data room for investor queries and improve finance automation.

We are a fast-growing consumer brand built to reduce screen time through interactive products. We are a validated business-a Shark Tank India alum, venture-backed by a top family office, and currently expanding into interactive building sets for kidults through our dedicated sub-brand.

Why This Role Exists

We are not looking for a traditional record-keeper. Most of our routine compliance, invoice processing, and daily MIS are already automated into a live dashboard. We need someone to interpret what those numbers mean and guide strategic decisions. As we scale volume and raise capital periodically, our financial data needs to be fast, accurate, and defensible.

What You Will Own

• Statutory & Compliance: Bookkeeping, GST filings, and statutory requirements across a multi-state footprint.
• Financial Reporting: The monthly close and MIS pack.
• Reconciliations: Marketplace settlements reconciled across every sales channel.
• Vendor & CA Management: Supplier payments and primary coordination with our external CA firm.
• Diligence & Automation: Maintaining a clean data room for investor queries, while continually finding and fixing gaps in our finance automation.

What You Will Grow Into

Working directly with the founders, you will expand your scope into:

• Unit economics analysis by channel, category, and SKU.
• Tracking contribution margin leakage, including the true cost of returns and RTO.
• Managing inventory cycles, working capital, and 13-week rolling cash flows.
• Departmental budgeting, variance analysis, investor reporting, and fundraising diligence.
• Career Path: Opportunity to build the finance function from the ground up and grow into the CFO role as the company scales.

Requirements

• AI Tool Fluency (Non-negotiable): You naturally reach for AI tools to automate routine tasks and free up time for high-value judgment work.
• Background: Degree in Finance/Accounting (B.Com / M.Com); newly qualified CAs are preferred.
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to dig into financial anomalies, pinpoint the root cause, and explain it clearly to non-finance team members.
• Bonus: Hands‑on experience with marketplace settlements and channel reconciliation.

What This Job Is Not

This is a first finance hire, not a seat in a legacy corporate finance team. Compliance is just the baseline-much of the routine runs itself and your scope will expand as fast as you can handle it.
