Job summary

Smart Ship Hub is seeking a Manager - Finance Control to own financial control, investor relations, and fundraising strategy from our Pune operations. This high-impact role sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, and investor engagement.

You will lead end-to-end investor communications, build revenue models and SaaS metrics, oversee budgeting and audits for India and Singapore entities, and partner with leadership to drive growth.

Qualifications

• CA Final or MBA Finance with relevant startup experience.
• 5-9 years post-qualification finance experience; startup/growth-stage exposure preferred.
• Experience managing investor relations, board packs, and fundraising processes.
• Hands-on financial modelling skills (three-statement models, DCF, cap table).
• Understanding shareholder agreements, SAFE notes, convertibles, and share conversion mechanics.
• Experience engaging with PE/VC investors and advisors.

Responsibilities

• Investor & Board Relations: manage end-to-end investor communications.
• Prepare and deliver monthly MIS reports and performance updates to Board and investors.
• Develop runway calculations, cashflow forecasts, and burn-rate analyses.
• Track and report performance vs. Business Plan with variance commentary.
• Establish company-wide KPIs/OKRs aligned with Board expectations.
• Fundraising & Financial Planning: lead Financial Business Plans for equity fundraises.
• Engage with PE firms, institutional and strategic investors; manage data rooms.
• Draft/shareholder agreements and related legal documents with counsel.
• Financial Modelling & Analysis: build investor-grade models for a growth SaaS.
• Scenario modelling and SaaS metrics modelling (ARR, MRR, CAC, LTV, churn).
• Support pricing decisions with financial impact analysis.
• Core Financial Control: budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis across functions.
• Maintain compliance, filings, and audit readiness (India + Singapore).
• MIS, P&L management, and leadership reporting; manage treasury and working capital.

Smart Ship Hub is a fast-paced, investor-backed maritime IoT and AI SaaS company headquartered in Singapore, with engineering operations in Pune, India and a growing presence in Japan. We are on a high-growth trajectory and are looking for a sharp, ambitious finance professional to take ownership of financial control, investor relations, and fundraising strategy. What You Will Own

• Investor & Board Relations
• Manage end-to-end investor communications.
• Prepare and deliver monthly MIS reports and business performance updates to Board and investors
• Develop and maintain detailed runway calculations, cashflow forecasts, and burn-rate analyses
• Track and report Business Performance vs. Business Plan with variance commentary
• Establish and own the company-wide performance metrics (KPIs, OKRs) in alignment with Board expectations
• Fundraising & Financial Planning
• Lead the creation of Financial Business Plans in support of equity fundraises (Series A/B)
• Engage with Private Equity firms, Institutional Investors, and strategic investors
• Structure and support investor data rooms - financial models, projections, cap table analysis
• Draft and negotiate shareholder agreements, share conversion agreements, and related legal documents in coordination with legal counsel
• Engage proactively with lawyers and advisors on corporate finance and investment documentation
• Financial Modelling & Analysis
• Build robust, investor-grade financial models for a growth-stage SaaS company
• Scenario modelling - growth, conservative, and stress-test projections
• SaaS metrics modelling: ARR, MRR, CAC, LTV, churn, payback period
• Support pricing strategy decisions with financial impact analysis
• Core Financial Control
• Own budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across functions
• Maintain compliance, statutory filings, and audit readiness (India + Singapore entities)
• Proficient in MIS preparation, P&L management, and reporting to leadership
• Manage banking relationships, treasury, and working capital

Mandatory Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

• Chartered Accountant (CA Final cleared)/ICWA is preferred. Alternatively, MBA Finance from top tier (IIM or equivalent) with relevant experience in similar domain.
• 5-9 years of post-qualification finance experience; startup / growth-stage exposure preferred
• Proven experience managing investor relations, board packs, and fundraising processes
• Hands-on financial modelling skills (three-statement models, DCF, waterfall, cap table)
• Sound understanding of shareholder agreements, SAFE notes, convertible instruments, and share conversion mechanics
• Experience engaging with PE/VC investors, institutional investors, and their advisors

Technical & Tools

• Advanced Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets - financial modelling proficiency is non-negotiable
• Working knowledge of accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or equivalent)
• Familiarity with startup finance tools: cap table management, investor portals
• Understanding of SaaS business metrics and recurring-revenue financial structures
• AI First approach
