Job summary

Razorpay is seeking a finance professional to lead Data Architecture and Business Strategy for the Engage vertical in Bengaluru. You will bridge Audit compliance with aggressive Sales targets, build complex financial models, and automate reporting to influence P&L decisions.

You will own revenue recognition, month-end close, liquidity management, and cross-functional projects to fix billing and reconciliation issues while mentoring junior analysts.

Qualifications

• Education: CA / ACCA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent from a reputed institute.
• Experience: 2–4 years in Fintech, SaaS, or high-transaction environments.
• Advanced Excel: VLOOKUP, Index-Match, Pivot Tables and Advanced Excel fluency.
• Data Fluency: Basic knowledge of SQL or BI tools (Looker/PowerBI).
• Compliance: Strong grasp of Revenue Recognition standards (IndAS 115).
• First-Principles Thinker: question processes and propose fixes.
• Effective Communicator: explain complex accounting constraints to sales heads without jargon.
• Mentor Mindset: guide and upskill interns/junior analysts.

Responsibilities

• Revenue Modelling: Manage complex revenue recognition models and maintain logic for incremental recognition.
• Sales Enablement: Act as POC to Sales; upgrade Scenario Simulators for profitable deals and real-time incentive prediction.
• Controllership & Audit Management: Oversee statutory audit for the division with IFRS/IndAS expertise.
• Audit lead: defend complex revenue positions to external auditors with technical rationale.
• Month-End Precision: Own month-end close with 100% accrual and provision accuracy.
• Working Capital & Cash Flow: Monitor AP/AR to keep division cash-flow positive; flag liquidity risks.
• Automation & Process Design: Build live dashboards to replace Excel dependency and show Forecast vs Actuals.
• Reporting Architecture: Move away from manual Excel; ensure real-time leadership dashboards.
• Process Improvement: identify bottlenecks and lead cross-functional fixes.

We are looking for a finance professional who refuses to be just a gatekeeper. This role is not about data entry; it is about Data Architecture and Business Strategy.

You will act as the de-facto Finance Lead for the Engage vertical, bridging the gap between strict Audit compliance and aggressive Sales targets. We need a "builder"—someone who can construct complex financial models, automate reporting logic, and sit across the table from Business Heads to drive P&L decisions.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Revenue Modelling: Manage complex revenue recognition models You will be responsible for maintaining the logic that allows us to recognize revenue progressively rather than as a lump sum.
• Sales Enablement: Act as a POC to the Sales team. Maintain and upgrade "Scenario Simulators" that help Key Account Managers structure profitable deals and predict their incentive achievements in real-time.
• Controllership & Audit Management
• Audit lead: Take ownership of the statutory audit for the division. You must be able to defend complex revenue positions to external auditors with deep technical rationale (IFRS/IndAS).
• Month-End Precision: Own the month-end close process. Ensure 100% accuracy in accruals and provisions, minimizing the timeline between month-end and final reporting.
• Working Capital & Cash Flow
• Liquidity Management: Monitor the AP/AR split to ensure the division remains cash-flow positive, proactively flagging liquidity risks to the central treasury
• Automation & Process Design
• Reporting Architecture: Move away from manual Excel dependencies. Maintain and build live dashboards (Looker/Excel) to give leadership a real-time view of "Forecast vs. Actuals."
• Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in billing or reconciliation (e.g., Engineering/Product gaps) and lead cross-functional projects to fix them permanently.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Education: CA / ACCA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent from a reputed institute.
• Experience: 2–4 years of experience. Prior exposure to Fintech, SaaS, or high-transaction environments is a massive plus.
• Advanced Excel: VLOOKUPs, Index-Match, Pivot Tables and Advanced Excel fluency. You must know how to build models that don't crash under heavy data.
• Data Fluency: Basic knowledge of SQL or experience with BI tools (Looker/PowerBI) is highly desirable.
• Compliance: Strong grasp of Revenue Recognition standards (IndAS 115).
• First-Principles Thinker: You don't just follow the process; you ask, "Why does this process exist?" and fix it if it's broken. You are able to formulate new methodologies and come up with better fixes to problems on the go.
• Effective Communicator: You can explain complex accounting constraints to a sales head without using jargon.
• Mentor Mindset: Ability to guide and upskill interns/junior analysts, fostering a culture of ownership within the team.
