Job summary

Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) in New Delhi seeks a Finance Executive/Finance Officer to own budgets and drive financial execution. You will ensure donor fund tracking, timely statutory filings, payroll, and vendor payments while coordinating across teams for accurate inputs.

The role requires 2–7 years in non-profit/CSR sectors, familiarity with Zoho Books/Tally, and strong Excel/Google Sheets skills. A proactive, responsible professional with leadership potential is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or related field (essential).
  • CA Inter, M.Com, or MBA Finance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and monitoring of project budgets.
  • Assist in donor fund tracking, grant utilization, and reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate statutory compliance (FCRA, GST, TDS, etc.).
  • Assist in payroll processing, vendor payments, and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure timely financial inputs.
  • Draft, review, and support financial documentation for grants and consultancy contracts.
  • Build clarity and consistency in internal reports and MIS.
  • Identify bottlenecks and proactively solve problems before escalation.
  • Create systems and processes where they don’t yet exist.
  • Contribute to automation, migration, and digital improvement efforts.
  • Handle data management in Zoho Books, Excel, and Google Workspace
  • Participate in internal audits and respond to audit queries
  • Bring structure to ambiguity and support clean, efficient execution
  • Keeping a close watch on the Council’s statutory compliance
  • Close coordination with the HR and Admin team related to financial matters
  • All other supporting tasks

Purpose

We are looking for a self-driven Finance Officer whocan take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks. This person will play a pivotalrole in ensuring nothing gets stuck at the top by becoming a dependable middlelayer within the team. The Finance Officer will drive execution, bring clarityto ambiguity, and lead through trust and example.

This role is ideal for someone who is proactive,committed to excellence, and eager to grow into a future leadership position.You will support a high-performance finance function that underpins CEEW’smission in the energy and environment space.

Job Duties andAccountabilities

Selection Criteria

Educational Background

  • Bachelors degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, orrelated field (essential)
  • Professional qualifications (CA Inter, M. Com, or MBAFinance) preferred.

Experience

  • 2-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in a non-profit, CSR,or development sector context
  • Experience handlingdonor compliance, statutory filings, and internal processes.
  • Exposure to Zoho Books,Tally, or similar systems.

Technical Skills

  • Strong command ofExcel, Google Sheets, PPT’s and Storytelling tools.
  • Working knowledge ofGST, TDS, FCRA, and Income Tax.
  • Comfortable creatingfinancial reports and PowerPoint summaries for decision-makers.
