Reporting to Senior Fellow, Low Carbon Economy

Purpose

CEEWseeks to hire an Engagement Lead (EL) for its Low Carbon Economy (LCE)programme. The individual would be responsible for actively engaging while strengtheningand building trusted relationships with state governments, while also engagingwith central government ministries, industry, academia, civil society and otherstakeholders as need to achieve the programme’s objective. The EL will beresponsible for preparing the engagement and advocacy strategy for the LCE programme’sinitiatives across various states and implementing it through intensiveconsultations with major stakeholders.

We arelooking for an experienced professional with hands-on experience and deepsectoral understanding, to build and expand CEEW’s work on informing climate policy-making,particularly at the state level. The candidate should be able to connect thedots across many moving parts and look for innovative ways to conduct andsocialise research with the key decision makers.

Job Duties and Accountabilities

  • Represent CEEW andbuild networks: represent CEEW at relevant meetings and events especially atthe state level, and strengthen relationships with governmental andnon-governmental stakeholders.
  • Develop state-level strategies:Support the design and implementation of the LCE programme’s engagement andadvocacy strategy.
  • Facilitatecommunication and coordination: Act as the primary point of contact fortechnical exchanges and communication between CEEW and stakeholders and preparemeeting notes.
  • Organise strategicevents: Plan, minute and manage meetings, consultations, and events incollaboration with stakeholders.
  • Build researchnetworks: Establish and maintain local, national, and international researchcollaborations to support program goals.
  • Workclosely with senior researchers to develop short briefs/presentations with researchinsights and support revenue generation.
  • Present researchfindings: Share research outcomes with key stakeholders, advisory bodies, andat conferences.
  • Any otherresponsibilities related to the work profile.

Selection Criteria

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in PublicPolicy/Governance/Climate Change /Environment Management/Urban Planning/Sustainable Development or any other relevant field.
  • Atleast 10 years of relevant work experience in consulting, policy engagement andproject management, preferably in climate policy or sustainable development.
  • Experience ofengagement with government ministries is critical.

Key Skills:

  • Strong networking skills with senior governmentrepresentatives.
  • Understanding of India’s climate policy and therole of states in it.
  • Demonstrate strong networking skills and abilityto represent the organisation on national and international platforms.
  • Ability to summariseand communicate research insights/findings as briefs and presentations.
  • Must leverage his/herstakeholder network in the to keep a tab on the latest climate policy trends.
  • Strong written andoral communication skills.
