Our cutting-edge platform delivers real-time monitoring, intelligent threat detection, speaker deterrence, alarm triage, and access control analytics using existing camera hardware.

Position Overview

Hakimo AI is seeking an experienced Finance Controller to establish and lead our finance function based in Bangalore, India. This is a founding member role where you will own end-to-end financial operations, reporting, and planning. You will build processes from the ground up, drive automation, and work closely with our outsourced finance team while transitioning to in-house capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Finance Operations

• Own all financial processes within the organization including revenue management, vendor payments, customer invoicing, and collections management
• Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing, and payment collections (AR process)
• Build and maintain vendor relationships and payment terms (AP process)
• Develop financial forecasts, budgets, and monthly financial statements
• Create management information systems (MIS) and financial dashboards for leadership visibility
• Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to drive business decisions
• Prepare regular financial reports and performance metrics

3. Process Development & Optimization

• Design and establish financial processes and workflows from scratch
• Identify bottlenecks and implement continuous process improvements
• Automate routine finance tasks to improve efficiency and reduce errors
• Document standard operating procedures for financial operations
• Evaluate, select, and implement finance software and systems (accounting, ERP, payment platforms)
• Own technology roadmap for finance function
• Manage integrations between finance tools and other business systems
• Ensure data integrity and security across all finance systems

5. Outsourced Team Engagement

• Liaise with currently outsourced finance team to ensure timely completion of activities
• Define roles, responsibilities, and handoffs between internal and external teams
• Monitor quality of outsourced work and provide feedback for improvement

6. Financial Compliance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with US accounting standards and regulations
• Establish internal controls and audit procedures
• Prepare tax filings and regulatory submissions as required
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation

Required Qualifications

• Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA in Finance (CA strongly preferred)
• Experience: 6–8 years of hands‑on finance experience in operational and strategic finance roles
• Startup Background: Proven experience in SaaS startups or high‑growth tech companies, ideally in scaling phases
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software, ERPs, and financial tools; experience with finance automation and data analytics
• Strong understanding of financial statements, forecasting, and cash management
• Process design and optimization skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and drive cross‑functional initiatives
