Job summary

Thompsons HR Consulting Pvt Ltd in India is seeking a Final Inspector/Final Inspection Engineer to join the Quality team at the plant site. You will perform 100% or sampling inspection to ensure finished products meet drawings and customer specifications before dispatch, and document results accurately.

Key responsibilities include visual and dimensional inspection per drawing, verification with gauges, adherence to AQL/control plans, and proper reporting, labeling, and dispatch readiness.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Quality
• 3–5 years in final inspection
• Experience in auto components / machining / stamping parts

Responsibilities

• Perform final visual and dimensional inspection as per drawing and control plan.
• Verify critical parameters using gauges, instruments, and fixtures.
• Segregate OK/NOK parts and identify rejection reasons.
• Ensure documentation of inspection reports, measurement sheets, and traceability.
• Follow sampling plan and inspection standards (AQL / control plan).
• Check packing quality, labels, and dispatch readiness.

Job Title: Final Inspector / Final Inspection Engineer

Department: Quality

Reporting To: Quality Manager / Quality In-Charge

Location: Plant

Shift: General / Rotational shift (as applicable)

Job Purpose

To ensure all finished products meet customer specifications, drawings, and quality standards before dispatch by performing 100%/sampling inspection and documenting results correctly.

• Key Responsibilities
• Perform final visual and dimensional inspection as per drawing and control plan.
• Verify critical parameters using gauges, instruments, and fixtures.
• Segregate OK / NOK parts and identify rejection reasons.
• Ensure proper documentation of inspection reports, measurement sheets, and traceability.
• Follow sampling plan and inspection standards (AQL / control plan).
• Check packing quality, labels, and dispatch readiness.
• Report any non-conformity immediately to Quality Engineer / Production for corrective action.
• Ensure calibration status of all gauges and measuring tools used.
• Support root cause analysis for repeated defects.
• Maintain 5S and safety practices in the inspection area.
• Required Skills & Competencies
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of measurement instruments: Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Plug gauges, Snap gauges, etc.
• Awareness of Control Plan, PDIR, and packing standards.
• Basic understanding of quality tools (Why-Why, 7 QC tools).
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
