Job summary

Space Medical Recruitment Consultant seeks a technically proficient Field Service Engineer to install, commission, maintain, and service equipment at customer sites worldwide. Significant travel, both domestic and international, is expected, with remote support when needed.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years (senior 5+ years) in field service, strong electromechanical and PLC skills, and the ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings. English proficiency and travel readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial, technical, or field service environment (electromechanical or automation).
• Strong electromechanical foundation with ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
• Familiarity with PLC-controlled machinery and basic diagnostics.
• Knowledge of industrial networks and protocols (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, fieldbus).
• Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and layout diagrams.
• Hands-on with sensors, actuators, motors, drives, and calibration.
• Structured, analytical troubleshooting approach with safety in mind.
• Professional English, both technical and conversational.
• Experience in customer-facing roles and strong communication.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and emergency interventions on company equipment at customer sites
• Delivery of post-sales technical support to customers worldwide, both on-site and remotely where applicable
• Execution of customer training and on-the-job training at company sites or at customer locations
• Autonomous execution of service visits, including travel preparation and reporting
• Frequent domestic and international travel for service, commissioning, and training activities
• Professional representation of the Service Organization and the company brand at all times

Required Skills

• Previous experience in an industrial, technical, or field service environment (electromechanical, automation, or similar)
• Solid technical foundation in electromechanics , with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems
• Practical knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery , including basic diagnostics, I/O understanding, and interaction with automation systems
• Familiarity with industrial networks and communication protocols (e.g. Profinet, Ethernet/IP, fieldbus concepts)
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and layout diagrams
• Hands-on experience with mechanical assemblies, sensors, actuators, motors, drives, and basic calibration activities
• Good manual skills combined with a structured, analytical troubleshooting approach
• Ability to work safely and methodically in industrial environments, following procedures and safety standards
• Professional working proficiency in English (technical and conversational); additional languages are a plus
• Previous experience in customer-facing roles, service, or technical support
• Strong interpersonal skills, customer-oriented mindset, calmness under pressure, and effective communication

Education

• At least ITE or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical / Electronic Engineering

Experience

• Min 2 years of working experience for junior and for senior min 5 years in Field Service Industrial Environment
