Job summary

ABB's Service Division in Mumbai, India is seeking a Field Service Engineer to execute on-site service work with low to medium complexity, following ABB processes and safety guidelines. You will plan and perform tasks with first-time-right approach, servicing MV/LV switchgear for data center projects.

The role requires Diploma or Degree in Electrical engineering, 3-6 years of experience in servicing, installation, commissioning and testing of MV/LV switchgear, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in servicing, installation, commissioning & testing of MV or LV switchgear for data center projects.
• Enhanced knowledge of MV and LV switchgear (GIS, AIS, RMU, CSS and Relays).
• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering (full time).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities with customers on-site to improve operations and reduce pain points.
• Perform field service tasks, diagnose issues, and conduct analysis remotely or on-site.
• Prepare material lists and ensure availability of parts and equipment for service activities.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.

This Position reports to: Service Team Leader

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will plan and execute work on a first-time right approach with customers. You will also showcase your expertise by displaying a clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in your own area of responsibility.

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

This role is contributing to the Electrification business in Service division at Mumbai, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points.
• Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.
• Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
• Troubleshooting equipment/process failures, requesting proactive corrective actions, and making recommendations to avoid such issues in the future.

Qualifications For The Role

• You are immersed in our Service function in Switchgear business
• You have 3 to 6 years of experience in Servicing, Installation, Commissioning & Testing of MV or LV Switchgear for data center projects
• Possess an enhanced knowledge of MV and LV Switchgear (GIS, AIS, RMU, CSS and Relays)
• Diploma or Degree in Electrical engineering (Should be full time)
• You are at ease communicating in English
