Job summary

ABB in Mumbai, India, is seeking a Resident Service Engineer to perform onsite ABB System 800xA maintenance and commissioning with a first-time-right approach, ensuring reliability and customer satisfaction.

You will diagnose hardware and software issues, document learnings, support upgrades, and uphold strict HSE standards while identifying sales opportunities and working at customer sites.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E/B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering or similar.
• 3–6 years of experience in Industrial Automation (DCS) with field service/commissioning.
• Minimum 2 years of programming, testing and commissioning in ABB System 800xA; knowledge of AC500, Freelance, Advant AC450, or MOD300 is advantageous.
• Experience with Profibus, Modbus, OPC, IEC61850.
• Exposure to cybersecurity solutions, virtualization, and digital solutions.

Responsibilities

• Performing onsite service of ABB System 800xA including preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Executing service work per customer expectations, and supporting system upgrades and optimizations.
• Preparing maintenance checklists, SOPs, and backup/recovery procedures.
• Detecting potential failures, diagnosing hardware/software issues, and documenting learnings.
• Ensuring high HSE standards and adhering to safety procedures at customer sites.
