Role Overview
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for end-to-end sales of the School ERP platform, including lead generation, product demonstrations, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and deal closure. This is a field-intensive, revenue-focused role requiring strong consultative selling skills, relationship-building capability, and understanding of the education ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Sales Growth
- Drive new business acquisition for School ERP.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline with predictable forecasting.
- Identify and convert high-potential schools, institutions, and education groups.
Lead Generation & Market Development
- Identify decision-makers (Chairman, Correspondent, Principal, Admin Head, IT Head).
- Conduct cold calling, field visits, networking, and referrals.
- Develop strategic partnerships with education consultants and associations.
- Participate in education expos, conferences, and industry events.
Consultative Selling
- Conduct detailed product demonstrations tailored to school needs.
- Understand institutional challenges in admissions, academics, finance, and communication.
- Position as a value-driven digital transformation solution.
- Prepare customized proposals and ROI presentations.
Negotiation & Closure
- Lead commercial discussions and contract negotiations.
- Handle pricing strategy and objection management.
- Close deals effectively and ensure proper documentation.
- Work closely with implementation teams for seamless onboarding.
Relationship Management
- Maintain long-term relationships with school management.
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Ensure client satisfaction during the pre-implementation phase.
Market Intelligence
- Track competitor activity.
- Provide feedback to product and marketing teams.
- Identify emerging trends in EdTech and digital school transformation.
Required Skills & Qualifications Education
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
- MBA preferred. Experience
Experience
- 38 years of B2B sales experience.
- Minimum 2+ years in EdTech / School ERP / SaaS sales preferred.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
