About the internship:
About Craste
At Craste, we turn crop residue into sustainable, high-performance engineered materials manufacturing green, circular, and certified tree-free boards for modern architecture and interior infrastructure. We are scaling rapidly across distribution and B2B channels to replace conventional boards with eco-friendly, zero-toxic solutions.
1. Role Overview
We are looking for a relentless, proactive Sales Intern who loves being where the business actually happens. You will not be sitting behind a desk sending template emails all day. Instead, you will be on the front lines: mapping local markets, cold-calling architects, contractors, and timber/plywood dealers, and walking into commercial design studios and retail hubs to present Craste board samples and book product trials.
2. What You Will Do
- Field Visits & Showroom Pitches: Conduct in-person visits to architectural firms, commercial interior contractors, and prominent plywood/board dealers to deliver material kits and product presentations.
- Outbound Cold Calling: Build daily calling pipelines (30-40 dials/day) targeting specifiers, procurement heads, and dealers to qualify requirements and lock in demo meetings.
- Sample Kit Distribution & Follow-ups: Hand-deliver curated product sample boxes, track sampling feedback, and convert initial interest into trial orders.
- Lead Qualification & CRM Hygiene: Maintain up-to-date daily logs of dealer feedback, specifier objections, site contact numbers, and follow-up timelines in our CRM/tracking sheet.
- Market Intelligence: Gather intelligence on competitor pricing, dealer margins, and builder material preferences in your assigned zone.
3. What We Are Looking For
- Fresh graduate or final-year student (Business, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Marketing preferred, but grit matters more than your major).
- Exceptional communication and persuasion skills in English and [Local Language / Hindi].
- High resilience: You view objections and gatekeepers as puzzles to solve, not personal rejections.
- Willingness to travel locally across timber markets, construction hubs, and design districts (two-wheeler + driving license is a huge plus).
- Basic proficiency in Google Sheets / Excel and CRM tools.
4. Perks & Benefits
- Real ownership in a venture-backed climate-tech startup.
- Performance-based monthly deal incentives on closed dealer sign-ups or project specs.
- High conversion potential into a full-time Business Development Executive (BDE) role based on performance.
- Letter of Recommendation and direct mentorship from company leadership.
