DSS Takara Bio India Pvt Ltd is seeking a Field Application Specialist to deliver technical support and training for Takara Bio products in the Indian market. You will work closely with Sales, Marketing and Key Account Management to ensure customer needs are met and issues are resolved efficiently.

Ideal candidates hold an MSc/MTech in Biotechnology or Life Sciences (PhD preferred) and are willing to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to end-users and perform operational training.

• Deliver dealer and sales team trainings as required.
• Participate in conferences and roadshows to promote products and gather feedback.
• Escalate issues promptly and coordinate with regional team for effective resolutions.
• Serve as a reference point for application topics and troubleshooting.

DSS Takara Bio India is a joint venture between DSS Imagetech Pvt. Ltd. and Takara Bio Inc. established in 2011 to bring world-class quality molecular biology tools and research kits to the doorstep of the Indian scientific community, making them readily available and affordable in the Indian biotechnology market.

We market Takara Bio, Clontech, Cellartis, and Rubicon products to customers throughout the country. Additionally, we represent comprehensive product lines from our Partnered brands Macherey-Nagel, TriLink and PromoCell. At present, we are manufacturing Takara Bio branded routine molecular biology products in India at our manufacturing unit located in New Delhi.

Job Description:

Primary Role: The Field Application Specialist is responsible for providing technical support to end-users by identifying, researching, and resolving product-related issues. This role includes conducting operational and technical training for clients and working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Key Account Management to ensure customer needs are met. Additionally, the specialist offers technical support to both internal and external customers who use or assist in the use of Takara Bio’s products.

Objective: To provide reliable, quick and efficient support to customers and sales members in the region.

Responsibilities:

• Pre-sales: Assist sales team members with technical queries during pre-sales discussions
• Post-sales: Troubleshooting: guidance to customers for running their experiments or having technical queries
• Provide quick and accurate resolution to query/complaints
• Provide training to dealers and sales teams as required and identified
• Participate in conferences and roadshows when conducted
• Takes an active role in ensuring that any escalation is handled promptly and effectively
• Be a reference point for the entire regional team on various application topics and is able to resolve most of the items escalated

KPI:

• Make routine visits to customers and dealers and generate leads for business development
• Update competitor activity/promotions to PM as monthly plan
• Capture the initial complaint in CRM within stipulated TAT
• Gather necessary details as quickly as possible to identify the root cause.
• Ensure timely closure and resolution of complaints.

Qualification

• M.SC / M. Tech.- Biotechnology/Life Sciences
• PhD in Life Sciences is preferred

Experience:

4–8 years of experience in technologies such as cell and gene therapy, next-generation sequencing, viral transduction, molecular biology techniques, and protein research.

Additional Skills (If Any):

• Excellent cross-functional communication and interpersonal Skills
• Proven research skills in the Life Sciences stream are preferable
• Strong understanding of biotech trends, technologies, and market dynamics
