Job summary

HUBER+SUHNER in Gurugram, India, seeks an experienced fiber optics technical support specialist. You will provide technical support to customers and internal teams, analyze requirements, recommend products, review specs, troubleshoot field installations, and conduct testing.

Ideal candidate has a B.Tech in Electronics/Telecom and 6–8 years in fibre optic products, FTTH/FTTx, data centers, and customer-facing roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/tech degree in electronics or telecom with strong fibre optics knowledge.
• 6–8 years of experience in fibre optic products and telecom infrastructure (FTTH/FTTx, data center).
• Experience in customer-facing technical support or application engineering roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for fibre optic products and solutions to customers and internal teams.
• Analyze customer requirements and recommend suitable fibre optic products for telecom network applications.
• Support selection and specification of fibre optic cables, patch cords, connectors, adapters, and accessories.
• Review technical specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot field installation and performance issues related to fibre optic networks.
• Conduct testing and validation of fibre optic assemblies and cable systems.
• Handle day-to-day customer enquiries and technical discussions.
• Conduct site visits for technical evaluation and problem resolution.
• Prepare technical proposals, compliance sheets, and product presentations.
• Assist in tender evaluations and technical bid submissions.
• Support product demonstrations and customer trials.
• Create and maintain product specifications, technical datasheets, drawings, and BOMs.
• Prepare technical reports and field visit reports.
• Support engineering change requests and product customization activities.

Your profile

Education and experience:

• Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electronics, Telecommunication, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline. Additional certification in Fiber Optics or Telecom Networks is preferred.
• 6–8 years of experience in fibre optic products, telecom infrastructure, FTTH, FTTx, data center, or network connectivity solutions. Experience in customer-facing technical support or application engineering roles.

Skills and knowledge

• Strong knowledge of fiber optic communication systems.
• Understanding of telecom network architecture, FTTH and FTTx deployments.
• Familiarity with optical testing equipment such as OTDR
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of telecom standards and fibre optic industry practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/CRM systems
