Job summary

Supremesofttech Solutions in Tiruchirappalli is seeking a field telecom technician to install, commission, and maintain telecom infrastructure at customer sites. You will troubleshoot fiber, copper, wireless, and satellite links, perform splicing, OTDR testing, and ensure service delivery within SLAs.

The role requires hands-on experience with OFC, RF, VSAT, routers, switches, modems, and telecom test equipment, along with 1–4 years in field operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or B.Tech in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with OFC, RF, VSAT, routers, switches, modems and telecom test equipment.
• 1–4 years in telecom field operations, network maintenance or on-site support.
• Strong ability to diagnose faults in fiber, wireless or satellite networks.
• Proficiency with OTDR, VFL, power meter and splicing tools.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission telecom equipment including routers, switches, OFC links, RF antennas, BTS sites and related hardware.
• Perform routine network maintenance and health monitoring of telecom infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in fiber, copper, wireless or satellite networks within SLA timelines.
• Conduct fiber splicing, OTDR testing, power meter testing and link validation.
• Visit customer or tower sites for feasibility, signal checks and readiness assessments.
• Configure telecom devices and update logs in ticketing systems.
• Provide onsite customer support and ensure satisfaction during field visits.
• Adhere to electrical and safety protocols for telecom field work.

Role & responsibilities:

• Installation & Commissioning Set up telecom equipment such as routers, switches, OFC links, RF antennas, VSAT terminals, BTS sites, and related hardware.
• Network Maintenance Perform routine checks, preventive maintenance, and health monitoring of telecom infrastructure.
• Troubleshooting & Fault Repair Diagnose issues in fiber, copper, wireless, or satellite networks and restore services within SLA timelines.
• OFC Splicing & Testing Conduct fiber splicing, OTDR testing, power meter testing, and link validation.
• Site Surveys & Planning Visit customer or tower sites to assess feasibility, signal strength, LOS (Line of Sight), and infrastructure readiness.
• Configuration of Telecom Devices Configure routers, switches, modems, RF radios, and customer-premise equipment (CPE).
• Documentation & Reporting Maintain logs, service reports, installation records, and update ticketing systems.
• Customer Support (Onsite) — Provide technical assistance, explain issues, and ensure customer satisfaction during field visits.
• Adherence to Safety Standards — Follow electrical, tower climbing, and fiber handling safety protocols.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Educational Background — Diploma / B.Tech in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical, or related fields.
• Technical Exposure — Handson experience with OFC, RF, VSAT, routers, switches, modems, and telecom test equipment.
• Field Experience — 1–4 years in telecom field operations, network maintenance, or customersite support.
• Troubleshooting Skills — Strong ability to diagnose faults in fiber, wireless, or satellite networks and resolve issues quickly.
• Tool Handling — Proficiency with OTDR, VFL, power meter, RF analyzers, crimping tools, and splicing machines.
