Job summary

Shalimar Paints is seeking an SAP FICO Consultant to provide functional support and enhancements for Finance & Controlling in a manufacturing environment. You will collaborate with Finance, Costing, Procurement, Production, Sales and IT teams to ensure stable operations and accurate reporting.

The role requires 5+ years of SAP FICO experience, strong knowledge of FI-GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, and CO costing. The position is based in Mumbai/Thane and is a full-time, on-site role.

Qualifications

• Hands-on SAP FICO support experience in a manufacturing setup.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 functional SAP FICO support and incident resolution.
• Assist with month-end/year-end closing and tax configurations (GST as applicable).
• Coordinate with ABAP developers for reports and enhancements.
• Support integration with MM/SD/PP and other modules and ensure data accuracy.

SAP FICO Consultant Support & Enhancements

1. Job Purpose

To provide functional support, maintenance and continuous improvement of SAP Finance and Controlling (FICO) processes in a manufacturing environment. The role will ensure smooth day-to-day operations, accurate financial reporting, effective integration with other SAP modules, and timely resolution of business issues.
The consultant will work closely with Finance, Accounts, Costing, Procurement, Production, Sales and IT teams to maintain system stability and improve business process efficiency.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. SAP FICO Application Support

• Provide Level 2 functional support for SAP FI and CO.
• Analyse and resolve incidents, service requests and recurring system issues.
• Support General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting and Bank Accounting.
• Investigate posting errors, account determination issues, reconciliation differences and period-end processing errors.
• Coordinate with SAP technical teams and external implementation/support partners for complex issues.
• Maintain incident documentation, root-cause analysis and knowledge articles.

B. Financial Accounting and Period-End Closing

• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities.
• Resolve issues related to journal postings, accruals, provisions, foreign currency valuation and reconciliations.
• Support vendor/customer account reconciliation and bank reconciliation.
• Assist with financial statements, trial balance and other statutory or management reporting requirements.
• Support GST and other India-specific tax-related configurations and accounting processes, as applicable.

C. Controlling and Product Costing

• Support cost centre accounting, profit centre accounting and internal orders.
• Maintain and troubleshoot product costing processes, including standard cost estimates and cost releases.
• Support material valuation, price differences, production variances and cost settlement.
• Analyse manufacturing costs, including raw materials, packing materials, labour and overheads.
• Support integration with Production Planning (PP),Materials Management (MM),Sales & Distribution (SD).
• Assist with profitability analysis and product/customer/plant-level cost reporting, as applicable.

D. SAP Integration and Enhancements

• Troubleshoot FI integration with MM, SD, PP and other relevant SAP modules.
• Support automatic account determination and valuation-related issues.
• Analyse business requirements and prepare functional specifications for enhancements and reports.
• Coordinate with ABAP developers for custom reports, interfaces, forms and enhancements.
• Support SAP transports, regression testing and controlled deployment of changes.

E. User Support and Process Improvement

• Provide functional guidance and training to Finance and business users.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements.
• Prepare test scripts, functional documentation, SOPs and user manuals.
• Participate in UAT, enhancement testing and release validation.
• Ensure compliance with access controls, segregation of duties and IT change-management procedures.

3. Required Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience in SAP FICO support.
• Good understanding of FI-GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting and Bank Accounting.
• Working knowledge of CO, cost centres, profit centres and internal orders.
• Understanding of product costing, material valuation and production variance analysis.
• Knowledge of SAP integration with MM, SD and PP.
• Experience in incident management, root-cause analysis and functional testing.
• Working knowledge of Excel and SAP reporting tools.

4. Preferred Experience

• Experience in SAP S/4HANA, preferably in a manufacturing organisation.
• Experience supporting product costing and month-end closing.
• Knowledge of GST, TDS and other India-specific finance processes.
• Exposure to SAP Fiori applications and S/4HANA financial data structures.
• Experience working with SAP AMS partners and managing service-level agreements.
• Familiarity with SAP transport management and change control.

5. Educational Qualification

• CA Inter, CMA Inter, MBA Finance, M.Com, B.Com or equivalent qualification.
• SAP FICO certification is an advantage but not mandatory.
