Job summary

Expro in Hyderabad, India is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze and optimize mechanical systems using CAD software. You will prepare documentation, ensure compliance with standards, and manage engineering data in the PDM system.

The role requires proficiency in Abaqus FEA, Inventor/Solid Works, and Ansys, with 5+ years in oilfield environments and strong materials knowledge. You will participate in design reviews and lead key activities.

Role & responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize mechanical systems and components using CAD Software.
• Produce the required Engineering documentation then check for compliance with industry standards and Expros policies and procedures.
• Record Engineering documents into PDM system and configure as required
• Create concept designs through sketches and 3D model files. Create new assembly configurations and product variants.
• Produce load case diagrams and load case registers for input to finite element analysis activities.
• Produce calculations for design verification (applying engineering theory / ability to work from first principles and in compliance with internal procedures, client requirements and industry standards).
• Create Engineering component and assembly drawings.
• Conduct research to evaluate materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
• Actively participate in Engineering meetings with internal and external parties and lead specific design reviews
• Upload information to Engineering databases and proficient in the use of technical software packages
• Liaise with other technical departments on work produced to ensure that any calculations and analysis is fit for purpose
• Actively adhere to the Code of Conduct and Anti-Bribery policies, procedures and processes to ensure the highest ethical standards are maintained and exposure to liability or risk to Expros reputation is minimised.
• Actively adhere to and ensure compliance with applicable Quality policies, procedures, processes & systems. Take an active part in quality improvement processes. Act on reported deficiencies and approve deviations from standard procedures as appropriate
• Ensure that employees adhere to and comply with all applicable Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and processes. Provide leadership in HSE; encourage employees to take responsibility and be accountable for their own and others safety and provide an environment where they feel authorised to stop any unsafe job. Ensure that all incidents and non-conformances are reported in line with the appropriate procedures and deadlines; ensure that all incidents are investigated and corrective actions raised as required; where appropriate, participates in incident investigations
• To carry out any other tasks as may be reasonably requested by manager.

Preferred candidate profile

• Degree in engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• 5+ years work experience preferably oilfield.
• Proficient in Abaqus FEA software
• Proficient in use of technical software packages (e.g. Inventor, Solid Works).
• Strong knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g. Ansys, Abaqus) is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
