Job summary

Quest Global seeks a senior FE analyst to perform structural analyses for wind turbine components using ANSYS Workbench. You will model, simulate, and validate contact, static, modal, and harmonic responses while handling bolted and welded joints calculations.

Strong MATLAB scripting and report-writing skills are essential for delivering certified analyses. You will collaborate with product owners, craft clear reports, and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables across development projects

Qualifications

• 8-12 years in mechanical engineering with a focus on FEA.
• Minimum 6 years experience in ANSYS Workbench / APDL.
• No mentoring required for standard FEA operations.
• Setup models in ANSYS Workbench / APDL.
• Extract mid-surface from SpaceClaim using NX/IGES/part files.
• Ability to handle weld and bolted joints calculations in spreadsheets.
• Proficient in fatigue, strength, and EURO standards considerations.
• Able to author clear analysis and certification reports.
• Scripting and MATLAB experience; strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Structural calculation of operation, handling, storage and transport for wind turbine components using ANSYS Work bench.

• Perform contact modeling, static linear, modal, Harmonic analysis
• Perform analytical calculations of bolted/welded constructions.
• Perform high-cycle fatigue (HCF), low-cycle fatigue (LCF), creep, and fracture mechanics.
• Interact with product owners and other stake holders and develop/implement solutions.
• Strong experience in writing analysis reports and certification reports.
• Ensuring timely and high-quality deliveries to our development projects.

Work Experience

• Graduate/Postgraduate inMechanical engineeringwith 8-12 years of experience.
• Minimum 6 years experience inANSYSwork bench / APDL
• Needs no mentoring/minimal mentoring for below FEA operations:
• Setting up model inAnsys workbench / APDL
• Extract mid surface inANSYSspace claim starting from NX iges file/part file of3D CADgeometry.
• Create bonded and sliding contacts.
• Create simplified bolted joints.
• Apply loads and BCs as per given input document
• Able todebug and converge above complex FEA model which may have 1 million nodes, several contacts, joints. Able to handle
• Understands weld and bolt calculations in spread sheet taking inputs fromANSYSresults files
• Able togive ideas/make necessary design changes in Space claim rapidly to meet design requirements.
• Aware of Fatigue, Strength requirements per EURO standards
• Able to author a report
• ScriptingandMATLABexperience.
• Good communication andpresentation skills.
