Job summary

Fortune Consultancy in India seeks an experienced Factory Manager to oversee end-to-end factory operations, production planning, CNC machining, precision manufacturing and quality compliance for aerospace components.

The ideal candidate will lead production engineers and shop-floor staff, ensure on-time delivery, safety, and cost control, and drive continuous improvement with 5S and lean practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in factory management and production operations.
• Experience in aerospace components, CNC machining or automotive manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of CNC milling/turning, engineering drawings, GD&T, tooling, fixtures.
• Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, FMEA, CAPA, and 8D problem-solving advantageous.
• Exposure to 4-axis/5-axis CNC machining, CAD/CAM, and CMM inspection is beneficial.
• Proven production planning, manpower management, machine utilization, quality and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end factory operations from raw material receipt to final inspection, assembly, and dispatch.
• Plan, monitor, and achieve daily production targets and customer delivery commitments.
• Oversee CNC machining, precision manufacturing, tooling, fixtures, and process planning.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and technical specifications.
• Lead production engineers, supervisors, CNC operators, technicians, and contract workforce.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Planning, Stores and Maintenance teams.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer specifications, work instructions and traceability.
• Monitor machine utilization, OEE, cycle times, downtime, rejection and rework.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Ensure preventive maintenance, 5S, Lean, Kaizen and continuous improvement.
• Prepare daily production and performance reports, resolve bottlenecks, report to management.
• Ensure consistent product quality, operational efficiency and on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, operational leadership, and the ability to manage factory activities independently while ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and delivery targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end factory operations, from raw material receipt to final inspection, assembly, and dispatch.


• Plan, monitor, and achieve daily production targets, production schedules, and customer delivery commitments.


• Oversee CNC machining, precision manufacturing, tooling, fixtures, process planning, and manufacturing feasibility.


• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and technical specifications.


• Lead production engineers, supervisors, CNC operators, technicians, and contract workforce.


• Manage manpower productivity, attendance, discipline, accountability, and workforce utilization.


• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Planning, Stores, and Maintenance teams.


• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer specifications, work instructions, and product traceability requirements.


• Monitor machine utilization, OEE, cycle times, downtime, rejection, scrap, and rework.


• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve quality and reduce manufacturing costs.


• Ensure preventive maintenance, machine reliability, workplace safety, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement.


• Prepare daily production and performance reports, resolve operational bottlenecks, and report progress to management.


• Ensure consistent product quality, operational efficiency, and on-time customer delivery.

Candidate Requirements

• 815 years of experience in factory management, manufacturing operations, or production management.


• Experience in aerospace components, CNC machining, precision engineering, or automotive manufacturing.


• Strong technical knowledge of CNC milling/turning, engineering drawings, GD&T, tooling, fixtures, and process planning.


• Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, FMEA, CAPA, and 8D problem-solving will be advantageous.


• Exposure to 4-axis/5-axis CNC machining, CAD/CAM, and CMM inspection is an added advantage.


• Proven experience in production planning, manpower management, machine utilization, quality improvement, and cost control.


• Strong leadership, analytical, decision-making, and cross-functional coordination skills.


• Ability to independently manage factory operations and meet production, quality, safety, and delivery targets.
