Taypro is seeking a Factory Manager to own end-to-end plant operations including production planning, assembly, testing, stores, quality coordination, and dispatch. Lead a fast-paced team in an assembly-led environment with outsourced fabrication and electronics.

Ideal candidates will standardize processes, improve efficiency, ensure on-time delivery, and foster safety and continuous improvement culture across the factory.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience.
  • Experience in robotics, automation equipment, SPMs, or project-based manufacturing.
  • Hands-on, shop-floor execution with outsourced fabrication and electronics operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end production planning and execution.
  • Drive OEE, cycle time, FPY improvements.
  • Coordinate with vendors for outsourced fabrication and delivery.
  • Develop SOPs, work instructions, and workstation standards.
  • Oversee stores, inventory, packing, dispatch and logistics.
  • Lead safety, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

Position Summary

The Factory Manager will be responsible for owning and driving end-to-end plant operations, including production planning, assembly, testing, stores, quality coordination, vendor management, and dispatch. The role requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and hands‑on experience in assembly‑led manufacturing environments with outsourced fabrication, machining, electronics, and structural components.

The ideal candidate will establish standardized processes, improve operational efficiency, ensure on‑time project deliveries, and build a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Execution
  • Convert customer demand and project requirements into monthly, weekly, and daily production plans.
  • Plan capacity utilization, line layout, takt time, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and improve production KPIs including OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), Cycle Time, and First Pass Yield (FPY).
  • Ensure adherence to production schedules and delivery commitments.
  • Drive productivity improvements and operational efficiency across manufacturing activities.
2. Vendor-End Production Coordination
  • Coordinate closely with fabrication, machining, powder coating, electronics, and structural vendors.
  • Track vendor production schedules, capacities, and delivery commitments.
  • Work with SCM to proactively resolve material shortages and supply bottlenecks.
  • Review vendor readiness before material movement to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Monitor outsourced manufacturing quality and delivery performance.
3. Assembly, Testing & Standardization
  • Lead assembly and testing operations for robotic systems.
  • Develop and implement assembly SOPs, work instructions, and workstation standards.
  • Drive line balancing and workflow optimization.
  • Introduce jigs, fixtures, poka-yoke, and process improvements to reduce errors and improve productivity.
  • Coordinate with Design and Engineering teams for smooth implementation of engineering changes and product updates.
  • Ensure standardization of manufacturing and testing processes.
4. Stores, Inventory & Logistics Management
  • Oversee stores operations including GRN, binning, FIFO, and kitting processes.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Monitor and control WIP inventory levels.
  • Ensure material availability as per production requirements.
  • Plan packing, dispatch, transportation, and logistics activities for timely deliveries.
  • Improve inventory management practices and material traceability.
5. People Management, Safety & Discipline
  • Lead and manage supervisors, technicians, assemblers, and shop‑floor teams.
  • Plan manpower deployment, shift schedules, and workforce utilization.
  • Conduct training and skill development initiatives for production personnel.
  • Enforce safety standards, EHS practices, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Drive 5S implementation and workplace discipline across the factory.
  • Build a performance‑oriented and accountable manufacturing culture.
6. Systems, MIS & Cost Control
  • Drive ERP-based manufacturing operations and process discipline.
  • Monitor production through dashboards and data-driven reviews.
  • Prepare and share daily and weekly MIS reports covering:
    • Production Plan vs Actual
    • WIP Status
    • Downtime Analysis
    • Rework & Rejection Data
    • Inventory Status
    • Dispatch Performance
  • Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, wastage, and operational costs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs.
7. Cross‑Functional Coordination
  • Collaborate with Quality, SCM, Design, Projects, Service, and Stores teams.
  • Ensure smooth execution of customer and project requirements.
  • Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for production and field issues.
  • Feed field failure data and service feedback into manufacturing improvement initiatives.
  • Drive alignment across departments to achieve business goals and delivery commitments.

  • Ensure on‑time, in‑quality, and cost‑effective manufacturing output aligned with project commitments.
  • Drive production follow‑up with fabrication, machining, powder coating, electronics, and structural vendors.
  • Establish standardized manufacturing processes, SOPs, and ERP‑driven operational systems.
  • Improve productivity, quality, inventory accuracy, and delivery performance.

Preferred Profile
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership.
  • Experience in robotics, automation equipment, special‑purpose machines (SPM), engineering products, or project‑based manufacturing.
  • Experience in assembly‑led manufacturing environments with outsourced fabrication, machining, and electronics operations.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, and shop‑floor operations.
  • Strong ownership mindset with hands‑on execution capability.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑growing manufacturing environment.
  • Candidates residing in PCMC, Chakan or nearby industrial areas will be preferred.
