Job summary

GoodSpace AI is seeking an experienced Factory Accountant to oversee the financial operations of its manufacturing unit in Chennai. You will maintain factory books, manage purchases and sales accounting, and prepare monthly statements and MIS reports.

The role requires strong accounting fundamentals, inventory controls, and compliance with GST, TDS and e-invoicing. Collaboration with production, stores and HR is essential to ensure accurate cost reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance is required.
• CA Inter or CMA Inter qualification preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing or factory accounting environment is required.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills and inventory/cost accounting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain factory accounts and ensure timely & accurate monthly closings.
• Manage accounting for purchases, sales, expenses, receipts, payments and journal entries.
• Prepare factory-level financial statements and MIS reports.
• Handle inventory accounting for raw materials, WIP, packing materials and finished goods.
• Reconcile physical stock with books and investigate variances.
• Monitor production costs, material consumption, labor costs and overheads.
• Conduct cost analysis and variance reporting vs budgets and standards.
• Oversee AP/AR processes and supplier invoicing, vendor balances and reconciliations.
• Ensure GST, TDS, E-invoicing, E-way bill compliance and statutory filings.
• Maintain fixed asset registers, capitalization records and depreciation schedules.
• Coordinate with Production, Stores, Purchase, HR and Sales for financial controls.
• Support audits and internal controls and prepare management reports.

Are you an experienced accounting professional with a strong understanding of manufacturing finance, inventory management, and statutory compliance? We are looking for a Factory Accountant to manage and strengthen the financial operations of our manufacturing unit.

• Maintain accurate books of accounts for factory operations
• Manage accounting for purchases, sales, expenses, receipts, payments, and journal entries
• Perform monthly account closing and prepare factory-level financial statements
• Handle inventory accounting including raw materials, WIP, packing materials, and finished goods
• Reconcile physical stock with book records and investigate inventory variances
• Monitor production costs, material consumption, labor costs, and factory overheads
• Conduct cost analysis and variance reporting against budgets and standards
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
• Verify supplier invoices, monitor vendor balances, and reconcile accounts
• Ensure accurate sales accounting and customer reconciliations
• Manage cash transactions, bank reconciliations, and petty cash controls
• Support GST, TDS, E-invoicing, E-way bill compliance, and statutory filings
• Maintain fixed asset registers, capitalization records, and depreciation schedules
• Coordinate with Production, Stores, Purchase, HR, and Sales teams for financial control
• Prepare monthly MIS, Flash Reports, Budget vs Actual analysis, and management reports
• Support internal, statutory, tax, and cost audits while ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls
