Job summary

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a skilled welding specialist/engineer at our Surat fabrication facility to support welding operations, process planning and fixture design. The role involves handling multiple welding processes and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

The candidate will be responsible for PPS preparation, WPS/PQR/WPQ documentation, and managing consumables and shop equipment to maintain production efficiency.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of welding processes including GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW, FCAW.
• Familiarity with PPS, WPS/PQR/WPQ and related documentation.
• Experience with heat treatment methods: Annealing, Normalizing, Stress relieving.
• Awareness of material standards (ASTM, ASME, ANSI, JIS, DIN, EN, GOST).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Process Planning Sheets (PPS) for fabrication jobs.
• Review, approve, and raise indent for consumables & factory operating supplies (FOS).
• Conceptualize shop-level jigs and fixtures for welding and fabrication processes.

Job description

• Welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW, FCAW),
• Preparation of Process Planning Sheet (PPS),
• Heat treatment (Annealing, Normalizing, Stress reliving) ,
• All types of Plate Raw materials (Steel, Alloy, Stainless steel-Austenitic and Martensitic),
• Awareness of raw material standards like -ASTM, ASME, ANSI, JIS, DIN, EN, GOST etc.,
• Awareness about WPS/PQR/WPQ/Documentation and Upgradation time to time basis.,
• Knowledge about various welding, brazing filler materials, and equipment,
• Conceptualization and preparation of shop level manufacturing jigs and fixtures required for various fabrication and welding processes,
• Review, approval, management and indent raising for general consumables & FOS (factory operating supplies) for fabrication shops
