Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Tamil Nadu seeks a skilled Fabrication Manager to lead all fabrication operations in our workshop environment.

You will plan and oversee cutting, bending, welding and assembly, interpret drawings, coordinate fabricators, welders and technicians, enforce safety standards, and ensure on-time delivery with cost control. Proficiency in ERP, AutoCAD basics, and Excel is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication operations within a manufacturing/workshop environment.
• Strong technical knowledge, leadership and coordination abilities.
• Ability to plan, schedule and oversee fabrication activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and oversee all fabrication activities to meet production targets.
• Supervise fabrication processes including cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Manage and coordinate teams of fabricators, welders, and technicians.
• Allocate work, handle shift planning, and provide training to the team.
• Ensure optimal use of manpower, machines, and materials.
• Monitor production progress and resolve bottlenecks efficiently.
• Maintain quality standards and minimize defects, rework, and wastage.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections and compliance.
• Enforce safety regulations, PPE usage, and conduct risk assessments.
• Control production costs and improve operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams for smooth workflow.
• Use ERP systems, basic AutoCAD knowledge, and Excel for tracking and reporting.
• Ensure timely completion and delivery of fabrication projects.
