Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced International Export Sales, Marketing & Business Development professional who will be responsible for developing international markets, generating new business, managing overseas customers, and driving export sales growth. The role will involve the complete export sales cycle, from identifying and developing international customers to order execution, export documentation, logistics coordination, payment/LC documentation, and post-shipment coordination.
The ideal candidate should have strong exposure to international sales, export marketing, business development, customer acquisition, export documentation, INCOTERMS, customs procedures, shipping processes, and LC documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in International Export Sales, Export Marketing, International Business Development, or a similar B2B export role.
- Sales & Business Development: Strong experience in international customer acquisition, market development, lead generation, sales conversion, customer relationship management, and achieving export sales targets.
- Export Knowledge: Strong understanding of INCOTERMS, customs regulations, shipping procedures, export documentation, and international trade processes.
- LC & Commercials: Hands‑on experience in Letter of Credit (LC) terms, payment terms, commercial negotiations, and coordination with banks for export transactions.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication, negotiation, and customer-handling skills.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or related field. MBA/PGDBA/PGDBM/MMS in Finance, International Business, or Foreign Trade preferred. Alternatively, qualified Chartered Accountants (CAs) are eligible.
Key Responsibilities
- International Sales & Business Development: Develop new international markets, identify prospective customers, generate enquiries, convert leads, manage existing customers, and achieve export sales targets.
- Export Marketing: Conduct market research, identify new business opportunities, develop customer networks, and build long‑term relationships with international clients and distributors.
- Commercial Management: Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, payment terms, INCOTERMS, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms with overseas customers.
- Export Operations & Documentation: Manage the export order cycle and prepare/review pre‑and post‑shipment documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, Bill of Lading (BL), shipping bills, Certificates of Origin, etc.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with production, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and CHA for cargo booking, customs clearance, container stuffing, transportation, and shipment tracking.
- LC & Payments: Handle LC documentation, ensure compliance with LC terms, coordinate foreign inward/outward payments, and follow up for timely payment realisation.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Act as the key liaison between international customers, internal teams, logistics partners, banks, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth order execution.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with export regulations and correct marking of export goods. Prepare MIS reports covering enquiries, sales, orders, shipments, and payments.
