Position Overview

The Expat will serve as a senior advisor and technical lead for the establishment and operationalization of a solar glass manufacturing plant. They will bring international expertise in glass technology, plant commissioning, and compliance, ensuring global best practices are adapted to local conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Setup & Commissioning

• Guide design, layout, and installation of furnaces, float lines, and solar glass coating units.
• Oversee commissioning schedules, testing, and quality assurance protocols.

Technical Expertise

• Provide specialized knowledge in raw material selection, melting technology, annealing, and solar glass specifications.
• Introduce advanced coating technologies (AR coating, tempered solar glass).

Training & Knowledge Transfer

• Mentor local engineers and technicians in international standards of glass manufacturing.
• Develop training modules for operations, safety, and maintenance.

Compliance & Standards

• Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations (local and international).
• Support documentation for ISO, BIS, and global certifications.

Strategic Advisory

• Advise management on scaling capacity, technology upgrades, and global market trends.
• Support expansion planning for Oman and other international markets.
• Stakeholder Coordination
• Liaise with equipment suppliers, consultants, and government authorities.
• Represent the project in international forums and technical collaborations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Glass Technology, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 20 -25 years of experience in float glass/solar glass manufacturing.
• Proven track record in commissioning large-scale glass plants.
• Familiarity with international compliance standards (ISO, OSHA, REACH).
• Strong leadership and cross-cultural communication skills.

Contract Terms

Duration: 2–3 years (extendable based on project needs).

-Location: Gujarat, India (with travel to Oman for expansion).

Compensation: Expat package including housing, travel, insurance, and performance-linked incentives.

Reporting: Directly to Managing Director.
