Job summary

Perfetti Van Melle is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for plant utilities to ensure uninterrupted operation of boilers, chillers, water treatment, and HVAC systems. You will drive preventive maintenance, monitor energy efficiency, and uphold safety and GMP compliance.

Focus areas include reliability of electrical/mechanical utilities, RCAs, and budget-based performance reporting, coordinating shutdowns with production teams.

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
• Experience in Electrical utilities within FMCG industry.

Responsibilities

• Operation Reliability: Zero breakdowns in plant utilities between two planned shutdowns.
• Continuous Improvement: Prepare, deploy & track compliance to preventive maintenance schedule; deploy visual dashboards for hourly/shift/daily monitoring.
• System Compliance & Engagement: Execute preventive maintenance plans; perform RCA and implement corrective/preventive actions; coordinate shutdown plans with production.
• Utilities budget & reports: Assist utilities manager to prepare annual budget; daily performance reporting to leadership against budget.
• SHE & Legal: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and strive for zero safety incidents; avoid major NCs during audits.

Job description

To ensure uninterrupted availability of all plant utilities, including boilers, air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, water treatment systems, DG sets, and HVAC systems, for smooth manufacturing operations while maintaining safety, statutory compliance, energy efficiency, GMP, and cost optimization.

Role & responsibilities

Operation Reliability:

Zero breakdowns in the plant utilities between 2 planned shutdowns

Continuous Improvement:

• Prepare, deploy & track compliance to the preventive maintenance schedule
• Deploy visual dashboard in the utilities section for hourly/shift/daily performance monitoring & review
• Work towards learning & deploying the latest technologies for energy conservation. Work closely with Utilities team for kaizens and improvement in operations

System Compliance & Engagement:

• Execute preventive maintenance plans as per schedule.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective & preventive actions.
• Preparation of detailed shutdown plan in coordination with production.
• Monitor equipment health and reliability. Responsible for Electrical /Mechanical/Utility up keeps in shifts

Utilities budget & reports :

• Work with utilities manager to prepare the annual budget for the utilities (consumption/efficiency projects/costing etc)
• Daily reporting of performance to the plant leadership team against the budgeted numbers

SHE & Legal:

• Ensure full compliance with all Safety regulations
• Ensuring Zero safety incidents
• Ensuring no major NCs during different audits
