Job summary

Ipca in Bihar (Munger) is seeking a procurement professional to manage sourcing of APIs and raw materials. You will identify suppliers, float inquiries, negotiate pricing and delivery terms while ensuring cost optimization without compromising quality and compliance.

You will oversee vendor management, maintain AVL, coordinate supplier audits with QA/QC and Regulatory teams, monitor inventory to prevent shortages, and ensure complete, audit-ready documentation and timely purchase orders.

Qualifications

• Experience in pharmaceutical procurement and supplier development.
• Ability to review COA, MSDS and technical documents before material approval.
• Experience with audits and regulatory compliance in pharma.

Responsibilities

• Procurement Sourcing: identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for APIs and raw materials; float inquiries and negotiate pricing/delivery terms; ensure cost optimization.
• Vendor Management: maintain AVL, coordinate for supplier audits with QA/QC and Regulatory teams; resolve vendor-related issues.
• Inventory Planning: monitor stock levels; coordinate with Production and Warehouse teams; ensure timely follow-up with suppliers for dispatch and delivery schedules.
• Documentation Compliance: ensure procurement processes meet regulatory and company standards; maintain POs, quotations, price comparisons, and contracts; support audits with timely docs.
• Coordination Communication: coordinate with Finance for payments and invoice reconciliation; communicate critical updates to Purchase Manager and Management.

Role & responsibilities

• Procurement Sourcing

1. Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for APIs and raw materials.
2. Float inquiries, collect quotations, negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
3. Ensure cost optimization without compromising quality and compliance.
4. Review purchase requisitions from the plant and process timely purchase orders (POs).

• Vendor Management

1. Maintain and update vendor database and approved vendor list (AVL).
2. Coordinate for vendor audits with QA/QC and Regulatory teams.
3. Resolve vendor-related issues such as delivery delays, quality concerns, and documentation gaps.

• Inventory Planning

1. Monitor stock levels regularly to avoid shortages or overstocking.
2. Coordinate with Production and Warehouse teams to understand material requirements.
3. Ensure timely follow-up with suppliers for dispatch and delivery schedules.

• Documentation Compliance

1. Ensure all procurement processes meet regulatory and company compliance standards.
2. Review COA, MSDS, and required technical documents before material approval.
3. Maintain accurate records of POs, quotations, price comparisons, and contracts.
4. Support audits by providing timely and accurate procurement documentation.

• Coordination Communication

1. Coordinate with Finance for vendor payments and invoice reconciliation.
2. Work closely with QA/QC for material quality clearance and sampling updates.
3. Communicate all critical purchase updates to the Purchase Manager and Management.
