Job description

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Researcher to join our team in Gurgaon or Mumbai. You will be involved in a wide variety of activities including the value chain of entire search life cycle from assisting consultants in the identification of business development opportunities through the executive search process, to the closure of an assignment.

Broadly, the role accountabilities include:

Managing the Search Pipeline & Process
  • Formulate and execute compelling search strategies independently and contribute to its execution
  • Consistently identify and develop “best in class”, high quality, diverse candidate slates
  • Manage candidate and client communications throughout the search process.
  • Leverage RRA’s global network by collaborating with colleagues across offices.
  • Deliver content-rich, insight-driven client status reports in partnership with administrative support.
  • Assist consultants in managing candidate and client communications throughout the search process.
  • Maintain the highest quality information on the database, including the timely and rigorous capture of insight gathered during the course of search work.
Business Development
  • Provide domain expertise and insights to inform consultants’ strategic views and RRA’s market position.
  • Monitor market trends and industry news to identify business opportunities.
  • Conduct research and generate insights for pitches and client presentations, collaborating with RRA Knowledge teams.
  • Attend and contribute to client pitches and meetings, as appropriate.
  • Work with our Knowledge team in capturing key search and non-search information in the RRA database.
Research & Community Support
  • Develop, share and promote best practices, driving continuous improvement across the research function.
  • Promote a strong research community and serve as a cultural ambassador within RRA.
  • Identify and introduce potential employees to the firm, both opportunistically and when there is a specific hiring need. Serve on interviewing jury as appropriate.
  • Mentor, train, and sponsor junior team members, contributing to their professional growth.
Candidate Profile
  • The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of business experience within a commercial or business-related role that focusses on data gather and insights analysis or from the research function of a relevant practice within a top-tier executive search firm.
  • A background in management consulting / strategy is advantageous.
  • Managerial experience is a plus.
  • Analytical with high-level of intellectual curiosity.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data and quickly identify the salient points and insights. Forensic attention to detail.
  • Results-oriented with strong project management capabilities. Self-starter with drive and tenacity to excel. Highly organized and adept at multi-tasking, meeting multiple deadlines and managing several stakeholders.
  • Relationship-builder and influencer. Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills, particularly the ability to partner with all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to produce quality, well-structured documents.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A university degree from a respected institution is preferred.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of any other additional language is an asset.
