Job summary

Idam Natural Wellness is seeking an Executive Procurement (Packaging Material) to manage end-to-end sourcing of packaging materials and vendor coordination. You will work closely with Production, Planning, Quality, Warehouse and Finance to ensure uninterrupted supply and efficient procurement operations.

The role emphasizes negotiation, RFQ handling, PO processing, and delivery follow-up, with a focus on cost-saving, supplier evaluation and timely material availability for manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level qualification in commerce, management, or SCM with packaging focus.
• Experience in FMCG/Pharma packaging procurement is preferred.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end procurement of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging materials.
• Source and develop vendors for packaging components (boxes, cartons, labels, bottles, caps, laminates, pouches, tapes, films).
• Float enquiries/RFQs, collect quotations and conduct cost analysis.
• Negotiate with suppliers on price, MOQ, payment terms, lead times and delivery schedules.
• Generate Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure on-time delivery per production needs.
• Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality and Warehouse teams for material requirements.
• Maintain packaging inventory and prevent stock-outs/overstock situations.
• Support vendor evaluation, alternate sourcing and cost-reduction initiatives.

About the Role

We are looking for an Executive Procurement (Packaging Material) to manage end-to-end procurement of packaging materials, vendor coordination, cost optimisation and timely availability of materials. The candidate will work closely with Production, Planning, Quality, Warehouse and Finance teams to ensure uninterrupted supply and efficient procurement operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end procurement of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging materials.


• Source and develop vendors for packaging materials such as corrugated boxes, mono cartons, labels, bottles, jars, caps, tubes, laminates, pouches, tapes, films and other packaging components.


• Float enquiries/RFQs, collect quotations and conduct comparative cost analysis.


• Negotiate with suppliers on price, MOQ, payment terms, lead time and delivery schedules.


• Generate and release Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved requirements.


• Follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery as per production and material planning requirements.


• Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality and Warehouse teams for material requirements and availability.


• Monitor open POs, pending deliveries, lead times and material shortages.


• Maintain optimum packaging inventory and support prevention of stock-outs and excess inventory.


• Identify alternate suppliers and support vendor development and supplier evaluation.


• Work with Quality/QA teams to resolve packaging material quality issues and vendor complaints.


• Support cost-saving and cost-reduction initiatives through negotiation, alternate sourcing and market benchmarking.


• Maintain vendor database, procurement trackers, price comparisons and other MIS reports.


• Ensure proper documentation of POs, quotations, approvals, invoices and other procurement records.


• Support new packaging development and coordinate with vendors for samples, trials and approvals, wherever required.


• Monitor supplier performance on quality, cost, service and delivery (QCD).


• Ensure procurement activities are carried out in line with company policies and approval processes.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Packaging Material Procurement / Purchase.


• Good understanding of vendor development and vendor management.


• Strong negotiation and commercial skills.


• Experience in RFQ, quotation comparison, PO processing and delivery follow-up.


• Good knowledge of MS Excel, ERP/SAP and procurement MIS.


• Strong analytical, coordination and follow-up skills.


• Good communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to manage multiple vendors and procurement requirements simultaneously.

Educational Qualification

• Graduate in B.Com / BBA / Supply Chain / Procurement / Packaging Technology or a related discipline.


• Candidates with experience in FMCG, D2C, Personal Care, Food, Pharma or Manufacturing packaging procurement will be preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 25 years of experience in Packaging Material Procurement/Purchase.


• Candidates currently working in Vapi, Valsad, Surat, Ankleshwar, Bharuch or nearby industrial locations would be preferred.


• Should have hands-on experience in packaging material sourcing, vendor negotiation and purchase execution.


• Immediate/short notice candidates would be an added advantage.
