Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
  • MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain or Operations will be an added advantage.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Supply Chain.
  • Experience in FMCG, Packaging, Manufacturing, or Consumer Goods industry preferred.
  • Exposure to Raw Material and Packaging Material procurement is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement of Raw Materials and Primary & Secondary Packaging Materials.
  • Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and annual rate contracts with vendors.
  • Conduct quarterly benchmarking of material prices across regions to identify cost optimization opportunities.
  • Develop cost models for packaging materials to strengthen negotiations.
  • Identify, evaluate, onboard, and develop new suppliers to improve quality, cost, and supply reliability.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors while continuously expanding the supplier base.
  • Evaluate vendor performance on quality, delivery, cost, and service parameters.
  • Support alternate vendor development to mitigate supply risks.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Product Development teams on packaging standardization initiatives.
  • Drive value engineering projects to optimize packaging specifications and reduce overall material costs.
  • Ensure the Packaging Material Manual is updated with all approved specifications and revisions.
  • Ensure accurate master data and smooth procurement transactions in SAP.
  • Support process improvements and system enhancements for procurement activities.
  • Maintain procurement documentation and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Finance, Taxation, IT, Legal, CFA teams, and Logistics partners for new product launches, packaging changes, and procurement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely material availability and uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate vendor performance on quality, delivery, cost, and service parameters.
