Job summary

Idam Natural Wellness is seeking a dynamic Packaging Procurement professional to source, negotiate, and procure packaging materials, ensuring quality, cost, and timely availability.

You will collaborate with R&D, Quality, Production, Planning and Business teams to manage end-to-end packaging procurement, supplier development, and cost optimization across multiple packaging formats.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience in Packaging Procurement, Purchase, or Sourcing.
• Experience in FMCG / Beauty & Personal Care / Pharma / Cosmetics / Home Care / Consumer Goods.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials and suppliers.
• Hands-on vendor development, sourcing, negotiation, and cost optimization.
• Strong analytical and commercial negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement of primary and secondary packaging materials.
• Source packaging materials including bottles, jars, caps, PET/HDPE/PP, laminates, labels, cartons.
• Negotiate price, MOQ, payment terms, lead time, tooling costs, and credit terms.
• Coordinate with R&D, Quality, Production, and Design for new packaging development.
• Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery per production needs.
• Monitor supplier performance and develop alternates to reduce risk.
• Maintain supplier database and procurement MIS.

Job description

We are looking for a dynamic Packaging Procurement professional responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring packaging materials while ensuring the right quality, cost, and timely availability. The role will involve working closely with suppliers, R&D, Quality, Production, Planning, and Business teams to manage end-to-end packaging procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end procurement of primary and secondary packaging materials.
• Source packaging materials such as:
• Glass & Plastic Bottles
• Jars, Tubes & Containers
• Caps, Closures & Pumps
• PET / HDPE / PP Packaging
• Laminates & Pouches
• Labels, Sleeves & Stickers
• Corrugated Boxes & Cartons
• Mono Cartons
• Printed Packaging Materials
• Shrink Films, BOPP & Other Flexible Packaging
• Identify and develop new suppliers based on cost, quality, capacity, lead time, and reliability.
• Float RFQs, evaluate quotations, conduct commercial negotiations, and finalize suppliers.
• Negotiate price, MOQ, payment terms, lead time, tooling/development cost, and credit terms.
• Coordinate with R&D, Quality, Production, and Design teams for new packaging development and approval.
• Ensure packaging materials are procured as per approved specifications, drawings, samples, and quality standards.
• Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery as per production requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.
• Develop alternate suppliers to reduce single-source dependency and supply risks.
• Maintain supplier database, comparative statements, cost sheets, and procurement MIS.
• Drive cost-saving and value-engineering initiatives through alternate materials, suppliers, and packaging optimization.
• Coordinate with Quality teams for supplier audits, rejection management, and corrective actions.
• Manage commercial and operational issues related to packaging suppliers.
• Maintain proper procurement documentation and ensure compliance with internal procurement processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3-4 years of experience in Packaging Procurement / Purchase / Sourcing.
• Experience in FMCG, Beauty & Personal Care, Pharma, Cosmetics, Home Care, or Consumer Goods preferred.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials and suppliers.
• Hands-on experience in vendor development, sourcing, negotiation, and cost optimization.
• Good understanding of packaging specifications, quality parameters, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical and commercial negotiation skills.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel, ERP/SAP, procurement tools, and MIS.
• Ability to manage multiple suppliers and packaging projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

Candidates from companies dealing with Beauty & Personal Care, Cosmetics, Pharma, FMCG, Home Care, Food & Beverage, or Consumer Products will be preferred.
