Job summary

D-tech Management Resource is seeking a Safety & Health professional to lead internal safety standards development, training, and PSM implementation at our site in Maharashtra. The role involves coordinating safety audits, incident investigations, and ensuring compliance with global and local safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have an advanced industrial safety credential, hands-on experience with PSM, and a track record of conducting risk assessments, trainings, and safety program

Qualifications

• Graduate with industrial safety background.
• Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) or equivalent.
• Experience in process safety and site safety management.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in safety audits and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for developing internal safety standards and improving existing standards.
• Coordinate and conduct safety training to build PSM competencies across the organisation.
• Improve PSM understanding among line management via line walks and incident investigations.
• Conduct plant safety inspections to identify unsafe conditions and acts.
• Deliver safety training to employees on and off the job.
• Implement and maintain work permit systems, safety procedures, and emergency response.
• Carry out accident investigations and issue CAPA recommendations.
• Coordinate with Finance for fire policy rebates/annual maintenance contracts.
• Organise Safety Day, First-Aid training, and safety audits.
• Ensure fire protection systems meet NFPA/OISD standards and perform periodic checks.

Role & responsibilities

Job Description :-

• Safety :- He should be able to provide technical support on development of Internal standards and improving existing standards
• He should be able to provide Technical Consulting support for developing of internal PSM competencies throughout the organisation by coordinating and conducting various training , coaching , consulting sessions .
• He should be able to improve the PSM understanding , recognition and implementation skill of line management through participation in PSM Line walk , Incident Investigation, etc .
• Plant safety inspection to identify the unsafe conditions and acts.
• Safety training to employees through on job and off job.
• Effective implementation of Plant Safety Rules.
• Inspection and testing of personnel protective equipment.
• Developing & maintaining system for- Work Permit, Safety operating
• procedures, Safety committee, emergency response etc.
• Assist and carry out accident investigation of accidents and give
• recommendation to avoid reoccurrence.
• Carry out on site emergency fire mock drill.
• Co-ordination with Finance Dept to get maximum rebate on fire policies
• premium through third party nnual maintenance contract for Fire Hydrant

and Fire extinguishers installed.

• Periodical inspection through approved agency for tools tackles and pressure vessels as per Factory Rules.
• Organizing Safety Day
• Organizing First-Aid training programme for employees and Workers
• Responsible for ensuring safe process issuing Safety permits; monitoring
• process parameters.
• To create awareness on usage of PPEs and ensure to follow the same
• Implemented Behavioral based safety and carrying out audits.
• Implemented Contractor Safety Management and carrying out audits.
• Involved in Two major construction projects errection i.e. PEB structure and equipment installation.
• Implemented gate entry checklists &Third-party certification for Heavy Machinery i.e. FARANA, CRANES etc. Equipments, Tools& Tackles
• Regularized Induction trainings for contract workmen,pep talks& Job specific trainings etc.,
• Work permit systems with Job safety Analysis & Method Statements.
• Analysis of Incidents FAC, RWC, LTI, MTC and High potential Near misses
• Identified Safety star cap from each dept., and evaluating the performance
• Implemented OHSAS 18001 management system and Reward & Recognition
• Foam sprinkler system, Aerosolsystem, cleanagent system for fire protection at Solvent handling, electrical panel, UPS etc.,
• Ensuring the Fire Fighting Facilities are in healthy condition, periodic checking of Fire Fighting and emergency equipment as per OISD standard and NFPA standard.
• Support Line Managers for effective implementation of Work Permit System, Scaffolding Work, Working at Height, Confined Space etc.
• Conducting Internal Safety Audit and Survey for checking effectiveness.
• Developing and updating HSE Procedures and educate the Line Management for effective implementation.
• Develop HSE Training module and conducting training for employee and contract workman for Safety Awareness.
• Accident investigation and Fix the control measures though CAPA system.
• Management HSE Report, HSE Statistics, HSE Targets, Benchmarking.
• Fire prevention management & disaster (due to fire, leakage & explosion etc.) control management system through mock drills.
• Coordinating with the medical department for the periodical medical check ups and other occupational health related activities.
• Investigating accidents / insentient and taking corrective/preventive measures for achieving zero accidents.
• Imparting induction / refresher safety trading to employees and contractor workers.
• Factory license, Explosive license renewal.
• Correspondence with Health & Safety and Pollution Authorities.
• Imparting training to employees and awareness campaign.
• Preparation of On Site Emergency Plan and periodical safety audits.

• Adopting and implementing Global best safety practices, Member of Safety Interaction sub-committee & Plant Implementation Committee 5 & Certified Contractor Safety Management System
• Trained and certified auditors of Safety Risk Field Audit & Safety Interaction & incident investigation process DuPont world class safety standards, 5S Implementation

Technical Competencies :-

• Knowledge of Safety Standards and various applicable legal and other requirements on Process Safety Management .
• Knowledge of various Tools & Techniques ( Hazaop, FMEA, What If , Consequence Analysis , LOPA, Bow Tie etc .
• Special requirements :- People implementing Process Safety at Chemical Plant / Steel Plant should be preferred.

Coordination / Liaisoning:-

• Liaison with statutory and regulatory bodies for renewal of licenses obtaining clearances, consents and authorization for executing various expansion and modernization projects and also in connection to compliance with statutory / legal requirements.
• Coordinating with external surveillance auditors for initiating relevant actions in case of non-compliance of specified norms.
• Maintenance, (Breakdown & Preventive Safety Equipment )
• Break down & preventive maintenance of utility equipments and light / heavy-duty motor transportation vehicles. Besides, handling of workshop cum machine shop pertain to the maintenance jobs .

System:-

• Implementing 5 more elements in addition to existing 14 elements of PSM
• Sustaining IMS system at site (ISO 45001:2018 / ISO 9001:2015 / ISO 14001:2015)
• Training to employees
• Sustaining My Safety’ software at site (For Near miss reporting, PIIR, FIIR, MOC)
