Job summary

Asian Paints in Visakhapatnam is seeking an Executive - EHS to lead environmental health and safety operations at the plant, focusing on effluent treatment, waste management, and regulatory compliance.

You will deploy operators, monitor ETP/STP performance, coordinate with engineering, and ensure 5S practices across the site while maintaining daily reports and logs. The role emphasizes safety, hygiene, and continuous improvement in process safety.

Responsibilities

• Deploying operators and monitoring day-to-day ETP operations
• Providing the total Industrial and Domestic Water treated daily
• Checking the status of pumps and motors in ETP and coordinating with engineering to ensure equipment availability
• Instructing operators on previous day pumping for ETP if not done
• Ensuring good housekeeping in ETP and scrap yard and implementing 5S practices
• Monitoring ETP & STP parameters daily and planning operations
• Ensuring decontamination activities per disposal method defined
• Ensuring ETP RO and MEE operations meet ZLD requirements
• Issuing PPE to contract workers in ETP/Hazardous Scrap yard and ensuring equipment availability
• Analyzing influent/effluent water quality for parameters like pH, TSS, TDS, COD
• Sending ETP performance reports to Managers daily
• Updating daily ETP performance display board
• Ensuring Waste Management as per statutory requirements
• Daily scrap register updating and ETP/incinerator log sheets
• Issuing manifest for scrap material daily
• Checking plant pits and pumping water to ETP to prevent overflows
• Updating daily treated water reports and QR/EMS updates
• Managing STP treated water for gardening use
• Updating treated water register with production and water figures
• Updating chemical consumption register and inventory
• Ensuring smooth centrifuge operation
• Moving sludge barrels to incinerator without spillage
• Monitoring and maintaining Hazardous Scrap yard
• Monitoring waste barrel yard and barrel cleaning operations
• Tracking sustainability parameters daily
• Implementing kaizen or waste reduction on shop floor

• a Deploying operators and monitoring day-to-day ETP operations
• b Giving the total Industrial and Domestic Water treated daily
• c Checking the status of all pumps and motors etc in ETP and ensuring the equipment availability by coordinating with engineering team
• d Checking the Industrial and domestic water pumped to ETP and STP on the previous day and instructing the operator accordingly for pumping the same to ETP in case it has not been done
• e Ensuring the implementation of good housekeeping practices in ETP and scrap yard and implementing 5S practices
• f Monitoring the ETP & STP stagewise parameters daily basis and planning the operations accordingly
• g Ensuring the decontamination activities as per the disposal method defined
• h Ensuring the ETP RO and MEE operations to meet the ZLD requirements
• i Ensuring that the required equipment is available to all ETP and incinerator operators and issuing proper PPE to contract workmen employed in ETP / Hazardous Scrap yard, barrel cleaning area
• j Analyzing the water quality of the influent and effluent for parameters like PH, TSS, TDS, and COD etc
• k Sending the ETP performance reports to all concerned Managers in the plant on a daily basis
• l Updating of daily ETP performance display board
• m Ensuring Waste Management practices as per the statutory requirement
• n Ensuring the regular daily updating of the scrap register, and ETP and incinerator log sheets
• o Issuing manifest to the scrap material lifted every day
• p Checking all the collection pits in the plant and ensuring the pumping of water to ETP so that there are no overflows
• q Updating of the daily report of treated water - QR PRD and QR EMS all QRs & ERs updating regularly
• r Ensuring the effective management of STP treated water to utilize in gardening
• s Updating the “treated water register” with production figures and industrial and domestic water figures
• t Updating the chemical consumption register and ensuring the required inventory
• u Ensuring the smooth running of the Centrifuge without fail
• v Ensuring the movement of the sludge barrels regularly to the incinerator without spillage
• w Monitoring & maintain Hazardous Scrap yard
• x Monitoring & maintaining waste barrel yard & barrel cleaning operation
• y Monitoring the sustainability parameters on daily basis
• z Implementing kaizen or waste reduction practices at the shopfloor
