Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Executive - EHS with 8–10 years of experience to oversee HSE on construction sites in Bengaluru. You will implement HSE plans, supervise field safety, and ensure regulatory compliance while promoting a strong safety culture.

The role involves conducting risk assessments, leading safety training, and coordinating with project managers and subcontractors to maintain a safe work environment. This is an on-site position with a focus on robust safety practices.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of HSE experience in large construction projects.
• Proven knowledge of OSHA standards, IS Codes, NFPA and local safety regs.
• Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation and PTW systems.

Responsibilities

• Implement project-specific HSE plans, procedures, and safety management systems.
• Supervise site safety and high-risk activities (work at height, lifting, hot works, confined space).
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits and provide corrective actions.
• Develop and implement PTW systems and risk controls.
• Organize safety inductions, toolbox talks and campaigns across the site.

Executive - EHS Job Description Summary We are seeking a qualified and experienced EHS Officerwith around 8-10 years of experience in construction projects to oversee and implement Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) systems at site. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory safety regulations, company HSE policies, and project safety requirements while promoting a strong safety culture across the project.

Job Description Key Responsibilities

• Health & Safety Management: Implement project-specific HSE plans, procedures, and safety management systems. Ensure compliance with applicable statutory regulations, client requirements, and company HSE standards. Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to identify unsafe conditions and practices.
• Site Safety Supervision: Monitor day-to-day construction activities to ensure safe execution of works. Supervise high-risk activities including:
  • Work at height
  • Lifting operations
  • Hot works
  • Confined space entry
  • Excavation activities
  • Electrical works
  Ensure availability and proper use of PPE by all site personnel.
• Risk Assessment & Permit System: Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA/JSA) for construction activities. Implement and monitor Permit to Work (PTW) systems. Recommend preventive and corrective actions for identified risks.
• Safety Training & Awareness: Conduct safety induction programs for new workers and staff. Organize toolbox talks, safety campaigns, mock drills, and awareness sessions. Promote safety culture and behavioral safety practices across the site.
• Incident Investigation & Reporting: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses. Prepare incident investigation reports with root cause analysis and corrective actions. Maintain records of incidents, inspections, audits, and safety statistics.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with OSHA, local labor laws, client HSE requirements, and project safety standards. Maintain all HSE documentation including:
  • Safety inspection reports
  • PTW records
  • Training records
  • Equipment inspection logs
  • Emergency response plans
  Coordinate statutory inspections and audits.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response procedures. Conduct mock drills for fire, evacuation, medical emergencies, and rescue operations. Ensure emergency equipment and first aid facilities are adequately maintained.
• Coordination & Communication: Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives on safety matters. Participate in progress and safety review meetings. Support implementation of company sustainability and environmental initiatives where applicable.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Educational Qualification: Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Electrical or related discipline).
• Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety recognized by relevant authorities.
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant HSE experience in large construction or infrastructure projects.
• Technical Knowledge: Thorough understanding of construction safety practices and regulations. Knowledge of OSHA standards, IS Codes, NFPA, and local statutory safety requirements. Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and PTW systems.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications. Familiarity with safety reporting and inspection tools/software is preferred.
• Preferred Skills: Strong communication and leadership abilities. Ability to influence and drive safe behaviors at site. Good observation and analytical skills. Capability to handle emergency situations effectively.
