Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Engineer - EHS to oversee and implement comprehensive safety programs on construction sites, ensuring compliance with environmental and health regulations. You will conduct inspections, train employees, and investigate incidents to prevent recurrence, while aligning with Factory Act / BOCW Act requirements.

The role requires 20–25 years of experience in industrial safety management, NEBOSH certification, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Any technical course from a recognized university.
• Advance Diploma in industrial safety management from a recognized university.
• NEBOSH certification.
• 20 to 25 years of experience related to industrial safety management.
• Basic computer knowledge is a must.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and site specific EHS plans to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct and review contractor risk assessments and identify hazards on construction sites; develop mitigation strategies.
• Perform regular audits/inspections and champion continuous safety improvements.
• Organize and monitor safety training sessions for all site personnel to ensure awareness of protocols.
• Communicate with employees on safety policy and promote safe systems of work.
• Regularly review contingency and emergency preparedness.

About the Role:

• Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and site specific EHS plan to ensure compliance with legal regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct and review all contractors risk assessments and identify potential hazards on the construction site. Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.
• Conduct regular audits / inspections and evaluations to identify areas for improvement. Implement best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the safety management system.
• Organize and monitor safety training sessions for all contractors site personnel to ensure they are aware of safety protocols and procedures.
• Implementing EHS at Industrial/construction sites as per Factory Act / BOCW Act / state rules Evaluates new and existing programs to assess suitability and the need for changes.
• Ensuring Contractors work to the conditions of engagement, prepare and implement the necessary safe work plans and practices applicable to their work.
• Utilising suitably competent personnel to achieve performance requirements and commitments.
• Training vendors to meet safety and health responsibilities, gain levels of competency, achieve compliance with legislative requirements, and meet safety standards for tasks performed.
• Communicating and consult with employees on this policy and in the development, implementation, and promotion of safe systems of work.
• Regularly reviewing contingency and emergency preparedness to ensure timely action.
